When Lazar and Jimmy both went to the bench in the first half with two fouls and, with Fulce and EWill on the floor together for extended minutes, we not only held our lead but stretched it.   I know that EWill's stat line isn't that great, but he played really well for that 5 minute stretch.  He is almost too jumpy out there on defense, but he held his own against the vaunted Louisville bigs.

There's any number of things that could be considered a turning point.  The one that sticks out in my mind was Louisville's only mini-run, following our 13-0 run to start the second half.  They countered with an 8-0 run and were getting turnovers and rushed shots from the press... that is until Lazar's thunderous dunk (after doing nothing on the offensive end before that all evening).  Extinguished that flame pretty quickly.

Love the efforts by both Fulce and EWill last night, too.

Benny B

E-Will needs to use this game as a mental foundation for the rest of his career.  Agreed that he didn't have the stats tonight, but he absolutely made a difference in this game tonight (early in the game, no less, when it mattered).

He needs to know that and build upon the confidence that he can get better and he can compete in the BEast.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

I may be wrong, but was there not a point last night where Fulce, Williams, and Junior were all on the floor at the same time?

definite turning point of this game was Lazar's dunk. The crowd was beginning to quiet down and get ready for a letdown, and then Lazar's dunk made the place go crazy and set off our run

+1  Completely agree.  I told my wife during that game, that dunk will end their run!  Awesome team effort and a very nice win!

I thought the turning point was much earlier. In the first half, DJO had the ball at the top of the key against the 2-3 zone. The shot clock was running down and the other 4 players were motionless. DJO proceeded to blow past the guy right in front of him (Sosa, I believe) and seamlessly knife through a zone defense and get an easy layup. It was essentially 1 on 4, and DJO made them look silly.

I thought Junior was only on the floor once last night in the second half...and he screwed up by dribbling into a corner on the UL press.

Good call, that was a big play. We started to get a little stagnant at that point. I noticed that when Junior is in there he really just stays in one place on O and things tend to bog down. He seemed to be moving more during a brief stint in the second half when the guards were pushing down to the baseline and cutting back up to the wing.

I think this could speak to Junior's baketball IQ. He knows he is weeks behind others from a deveopment standpoint (especially at game speed). I don't want him to get in a start chucking. While I agree that he looks TOO hesitant at times, I think we see him next year and be surprised by his development.
