i think its a little odd just in the sense that Yous is a guy who needs to be around college basketball as much as possible.
I don't see a huge amount of difference between study tape and watching from the sideline. Some may arguing watching tapes is more beneficial since you can break it down. Also, I don't think he has the intangibles to be the guys who is motivation on the bench. Players like Forzena knows he has to support players and get them excited. Yous again might not have that for cultural reasons. I don't think he helps the team while sitting on the bench.

That said,  I'll put in my pure speculation. I think Yous just needs more work in the classroom than others. Cultural barrier and he might even care more about his education.

For some reason I thought he didn't travel with the team earlier in the year. Would be standard practice for him.

You must have missed this post then:

Maybe your right.   I read that as "still" injured.

Maybe Yous can be the team mascot. If he only had Terry Reason's hairdo, the embarrassment level on court would be the ultimate.

Just speculation ... and someone here probably knows the answer ... but is it possible that with the team playing in New York last night and New Jersey on Sunday, they're not flying back to Milwaukee until after the Seton Hall game?
And, if that's the case, perhaps that's why Yous isn't traveling, the thinking being he has more to gain by staying in school and working out at the Al for those five days than he would sitting on the bench and in hotel rooms?

The video highlight of Jimmy Butler talking about a shot was filmed inside a plane...  leading me to believe they flew back.

6.2 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.8 blocks in 24.6 minutes effective.

That's actually much better than I thought.  Thanks for the stats.

If he's at home games I wouldn't worry...maybe he's still adjusting to America, college, etc., maybe it was the coaching staffs call to have stay back and continue to work on game details, maybe he's having issues traveling within the country because he's a foreigner (depending on what country your from in this post 9/11 world will determine what paper work/restrictions are placed on you within the States and your ability to travel)...all possibilities that need to be considered.

You also have to consider the stress that travel can have on an injury or the healing process.  I don't know the exact diagnosis, but it's certainly possible that the doctors gave Yous a "no travel" restriction until he's healed to a certain point.

Not everything in college basketball is a conspiracy.  Also remember that a student-athlete's medical issues are protected by law and can only be disclosed under certain guidelines.
Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

He doesnt really need to travel with the team.  I would rather he stay on campus, rehab his injury and focus on school than travel with the team just to watch.

Marquette charters flights.  It's quite easy to fly.

But I don't think there's anything more to the story than he's injured and class was a factor.

But if he would have traveled with the team he would not have had to listen to those two announcers while watching the game on TV.  He would be in a much better mental state when the team returned to Milwaukee.

My guess is he's staying back to rehab the injury. No wild concern here.

Going to be really tough on them over the next almost week.  Getting home maybe around 2 am, go to class and prepare for SH today, practice tomorrow, fly right back on Saturday, get up very early since it's a Noon EST start on Sunday.  Fly home, not having until midnight to take it in but needing to start prepping for Louisiville immediately, prepare, practice, and take care of school Monday, then the game Tuesday night.  At this point in the season, not having much depth, and with back-to-back roadtrip overtime games it's got to be tough on them.

Consider - Yous can't redshirt this year, so if Marquette can do ANYTHING to get him ready to play a few more minutes this year - that's what they'll do.  Just throwing in something for consideration....

Ya, the team flew back last night and the players were in classes today. I saw a bunch of them walking around this morning.

We have a winner!  What good does it do Yous to travel and sit around watching practice and the game when his numero uno need is to bulk up and gain muscle for next year.  If I was running the team I wouldn't let him leave tthe weight room and meal room other than to go to class and possibly the bathroom

He should be shotgunning six packs and pumping iron.

O.K.  With that training regimen I would allow him bathroom breaks
