2nd biggest play of the game
« on: February 25, 2010, 03:00:41 PM »
IMO, the 2nd biggest play of the game (behind Butler's shot of course) was the 4 on 0 fast break by St. Johns and he missed the lay up/jam.  To top it off, Cooby comes down and get's the rebound and they foul him!!!  I think that really took the wind out of their sails.

As I recall St. Johns missed 2 layups - the blown dunk..and then a lob/half alley-oop, lay in attempt that was overlaid?  Is that the play you reference about Cooby getting the rebound - or was there a 3rd missed layup toward the end of the game by SJU?  The basketball gods are definitely evening the bad luck MU had earlier this season, with some good luck of late.

3rd biggest play was Fulce hitting the 3 - I believe we were down 47-40 at that time.

Going to have to stay with the SOG on this one.

The blocked shot that turned into Lazar's three point play.  Huge.  Put us up three.

It's the one (I think with about 4 or 5 minutes in regulation) where I believe we turned it over and St. Johns had a fast break and the St. John's player started his jump too early and the ball bounced off the back of the rim and Cooby got the rebound.  There were virtually no MU players in the area.

I agree. For the terrible game that Cube had, that rebound was huge. No one else followed the break.

Butler's block was huge. What a clutch play by a clutch player.
