Chuck Polzin was the team captain for Marquette in 1946-47.

That would make Mr. Polzin the elder statesman of the board and would be around 80 years old.

Congrats Mr. Polzin on making it that far in life, especially when you get so emotional during gametime.

Mr. Polzin  - where do you live now?  Great win to really keep us in the picture....

i get way too emotional but i go back to that failure to foul for the last two games that nearly got us in trouble.

back when i played in 1946 there was no three point line so we did not inquire about such game scenarios.

This dude is jerking our collective penis. There are no 86 year-olds on these stupid internet forums, especially at 10 p.m.
I think this cat may actually be Crean or Joanie.

This is me back when I could play a bit.  Didn't score much but rebounded before those stats were kept.  And yes a marquette engineer old timer knows how to operate a computer.

I could out-rebound anyone if I got to do it off a desk...

I respect your opinion then Mr. Polzin.   His end game plays aren't always the best but he gets the most effort out of his guys and that's priority #1 in my book.

I think Buzz is a great game coach and I've stated my love for him many times,  but the last minute in regulation WAS pretty poor.....used all of the clock in MU's 2nd to last possession leaving only a 2 second difference between shot and game clocks for St. Johns......should've taken the shot sooner to give us a definite last possession with time......after using all the clock and leaving the ball to St. John's with 37,  he should've used his foul to give and then strongly considered fouling them again to put them in the 1 and 1.........calling the timeout with 8 seconds left little room for error.

What are some plays that you would suggest Buzz run?   DJO and Hayward were running off of screens and Jimmy made a move.  It's as good as anything else.

Definitely possible....that's why I asked the question.

And we didn't become the Warriors until the 1950s after the Braves moved to Milwaukee. I guess we were the Hilltoppers in 46-47.

It was ugly, ugly, ugly, but it was a big, big, win for this team.  Two road wins out of this three game spread so far.

MU shot 34% with Butler shooting 4 for 14, DJO 2 for 12 from the field and Cubillian having his worst game of the year by far.

These are the games that when you play like crap and win, tell the psych of the team, can you imagine what we can do if we play well.  Great for the players.
Cooby has had quite a ferw games like this.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

I will just say this... we barely score coming out of timeouts or dead balls.  I'm having a tough time distinguishing if players aren't executing, the defense is just forcing them to change it on the fly, Buzz didn't draw anything up really, etc.

Regardless, I just wish we could score more consistently in these situations.
