Buzz plain out coached em today, great gameplan. Great offensive sets, great possessions and good d scheme.

Great signature win coach and the players played their arse off.

Daniel

Was very well done by coaching staff and all the players who touched the floor.  I thought the time out when Unconn tied the game was a possesion too late, but what do I know LOL.

This was a great win, on the road, quality opponent.  Yeah!

Totally agree. Their guards were tearing us up and we couldn't get a stop and Buzz called for a triangle and 2 and we got at least one stop right away with it. I thought that was huge because we finally got a stop and some confidence on defense.

My only coaching question was the end of the first half.. we're pulling away with a 12 point lead doing what we do best.. then with 2:30 left we abandon it and go into a prevent mode?!  That is about the ONLY thing I would question this whole game.  Yes you can make it a half's game where you treat each half as a mini-game but you still gotta win the first half by more than you lose in the second half... something we nearly didn't do.  That said, GREAT game on the road against a good team and I believe Buzz gets a lion share of the credit.
Once a warrior always a warrior.. even if the feathers must now come with a beak.

The double time out at the end was a thing of beauty.  Saw the UConn defensive set was man, a called a spread to isolate Jimmy 1-on-1 on the drive.

Remember the criticism of Buzz's late game timeouts and scheming??  Hello?  Where are you guys now?

Buzz had no choice at the end of the 1st half, lazar and jimmy have to sit with 2 fouls and he had the fidget team on the floor, work the clock and hope for the best.

Couldnt agree more.  Imagine if Lazar would have picked up a 3rd fould before the end of the half.  It would have totally changed the way he played in the second half and on top of that, he could have fouled our even earlier.  Its a tough decision, especially when your up on the road, but one you have to make.  Lucky for us, it worked out.  Great game, great win.  Good job in a total team effort :)

I was critical after the DePaul game...with the half time adjustments in games we lost but led at half.  Doesn't mean I am a Buzz hater.  We all know he is limited on what he can do...and he has been incredible with game prep.  But, he was doing the things to mix it up today.  Mix it up with different zone looks, bringing in EWill to give some minutes when Zar and JB were in foul trouble, stopping some runs with T/O's (especially on the road).  We came out strong in the 2nd half and executed well (2 TO's..wow, hit the FT's down the stretch).  The end of the 1st half line-up was not a good rotation, but what could he do--he was just trying to hold a lead with this officiating crew.  The double TO won the game.   Buzz=SOTG

It worked this time. Why would we hear them?

Hey Vikings, I like what you've done with the basement.

I am not sure Butler's shot was a designed play after the two timeouts.  It looked like the play broke-down and Butler created on his own.  I find it hard to believe a fade-away 8 footer from the baseline was a designed play.  I am not being critical of Buzz; thought using both timeouts was very smart.  Obviously, some work has been done in practice, and recent game experience helps.  Maybe Buzz and the team are learning in this rebuilding season.

It was an inbound pass to our tallest guy on the floor (Butler) and then a hand-off, clear out for DJO.  They pressure D'd DJO and the handoff was not there.  Huge credit to Butler for not forcing the pass, driving, and hitting a very difficult shot.

And G'town is running Duke out of the gym.  Awesome day and its only 2pm CT.

@romey: I think the consensus is that Buzz has generally called the correct play, but that the play hasn't been executed correctly due to displays by Mu or quality defense by the opponent. I'm not sure what you hope to prove by poking the trolls.

I am pretty sure it was.  MU came right out in a spread.  It was definitely Jimmy's shot to take as Zar was pumping him up in the huddle.  It was Jimmy 1 on 1 whether it was to hole with a chance for a foul or what he wound up with.  He drew isolation on our only real match-up advantage.  Kelly even called it as it developed.

boyonthedock

G'town looks incredible. glad we got a win against them, because they look nigh invincible against this pretty good duke team

MUDPT

The play was Butler to Odom back to Butler according to Buzz on the postgame show.  Buzz said he wanted to use some clock by getting two passes in.  Whatever, it worked.
