Dickie V named his "All-Improved Team" and Jimmy was the first one mentioned in the article...

It really doesn't go into a great deal of detail, but it's nice to see JB get national attention for all of his on-court successes this season...

HoopsMalone

He is having a strong season.  DJO has been stealing a little bit of his press lately, but Jimmy has been a solid contributor out there.

He is having a very good season. MU needs to develop more plays for him.

I believe that he has only taken the third most shots on the team, and about only half as many as Lazar.

Jimmy needs to be shooting more and they should have more plays for him.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

Ready2Fly

MU doesn't really run set plays for anyone under Buzz. The offense runs itself until a good shot is available. The decision is up to the player with the ball in his hands whether or not to pull the trigger. I've heard many of the players, JB included, mention that the reason for their recent success has been passing up good shots for great shots. I think JB is taking what is coming to him in the flow of the offense, and passing up good shots for great ones. One of the things that makes him so efficient is knowing when to shoot it and never really forcing anything, and I like that about his game.

AZWarrior

I like his jumper.  I'd like to see him take more of them.  Plus, if he's away from the hoop, it opens the lane up for DJO and Buycks.  And hopefully Cadougan!
All this talk of rights.  So little talk of responsibilities.

Jay Bee

"Missouri's Kim English went from less than seven points a game last season to become Mike Anderson's top scorer at over 15 ppg."

Not to mention, he made the NCAA rules better this year after he and his team cheated Marquette out of a victory in last year's tourney.

I still hope Jimmy's arm isn't worse than we think.

His FGA are skewed because of the number of shots he has been fouled on. Jimmy has taken over 50 more FT's than Lazar.  I agree that he needs to shoot more,  though.  He has been incredibly efficient.  59% on FG's......78% on FT's......59% on 3's

But then there is the sourness of the FSU game where every FT was precious blood

Earlier today I read--but I can't recall where; in a different thread? another board? an article?--that a key part of his success and efficiency is that he goes with the flow of the game, not forcing things, but taking opportunities when they present themselves. No defense can ignore him, 'cuz he'll take advantage of it. On the other hand, if we run more through him, defenses will pay him more attention.

If that's the case, I'm happy with that and just because he is a 59% shooter with 15 ppg doesn't mean more plays for him equals more points.

He's a solid team player, and an incredible contributor to this year's success. I, for one, don't want him to try to be more than he is.

Jimmy B mentioned that in his Marquette Basketball Weekly video interview with Homer.
