Curious as to how National Marquette Day went for everyone?

Minor complaint: the game wasn't broadcast in HD (at least in the Milwaukee area).

I sat on my couch and watched football.

Buzz Williams' Spillproof Chiclets Cup

I was at the gamewatch party in St. Louis. Respectable turnout, probably about 20-25 people. Had our own area of the bar roped off. Pompoms at each table and a raffle for MU stuff.

Only complaint was we couldnt get the audio to be of the Marquette game, but that's what you get when you go up against the NFL Playoffs. But the bar people did play the fight song over the speakers, so I guess that kind of made up for it.

Kinda cool, on the Jumbotron, they posted 5-6 pictures of MU Day gatherings that had been sent in from cell phones around the country.

Where was the St. Louis watch party.  I just moved to St. Louis and have not been able to find anything MU friendly?

I wonder if they pushed that hard enough.
That would have TRULY made it a NATIONAL Marquette Day.

The event in Milwaukee was a really nice time. MU did a great job with it!

It was a great turnout in MKE at Molly Cools (the old Third Street Pier)... especially considering they changed the location Friday night.  It seems Bootleggers, the original gathering site, recently lost their liqour license.

Can you imagine the angst if they didn't move it?

Attended a very nice event at Peggy Kinnane's Irish Pub in downtown Arlington Heights, IL.  It was well-attended; I would guess 75-100 MU alums and supporters.  Props to J.B. (class of '77) for his email prompts that got many of us out of the house and away from the football which was a disappointment anyway this weekend.

Who selects National Marquette Day though?  It was like it was a homecoming game and we scheduled a conference tomato can that we were likely to beat, making Marquette Day one that would send everybody home happy.

With a week to prepare, I think Buzz' boys could have beat one of the conference elite today.  I say make National Marquette Day against one of the premier teams.  (It seems like Louisville has been the choice more than once in the past.)

The St. Louis party was at Sports Zone out at about Jamieson and Chippewa. That's kinda out of the way, more set up for older alums with families in the suburbs. It wasn't on the Nat'l Marquette Day list of gamewatch parties on MU's site (they had listed the only party in MO as being in Kansas City), but kinda spread up through email and word-of-mouth.

If you're more in the city, I watched the tournament games last year at Tom's Bar & Grill at Euclid and Forest Park in the Central West End. If we can put a decent run together I may be going back there with some other recent MU alums who are in grad school down here now.

Next year, the location of the Mke National Day watching party should be moved to the watching party @ 1001 N.  4th street.  Our party had a team, and everything.

Great turnout in Phoenix, probably 40 people or so.  Raffled off a bunch of MU stuff...good food, good times.  Spring Training game in March next event for the Phoenix club.

StillAWarrior

Apparently there was some difficulty finding a location in Cleveland showing the game.  So, we're doing our own National Marquette Day at our usual location (Shula's 2 in Independence) for the February 3 game against DePaul.
