Can MU sign a player during his high school or JUCO season?  Or do they have to wait for the spring?

The spring signing period starts in mid-April. They can get commitments at any time, but the players cannot sign until then.

I could be wrong, but I wouldnt expect a juco commitment until after the season, and maybe closer to the end of the school year...as to ensure that everything is sound academically.

On the last day of the November signing period Marquette had several guards who were willing and ready to sign LOI.  It was a matter of picking the one the staff wanted the most or thought would fit in the best because of skill set.  They were not in that position for a post or front court player.

I'm sure Buzz is working a list and also seeing what player will either become available or be a late bloomer.

With two 1/2 solid recruiting classes under his belt Buzz can approach things a little differently.

On the purely recruiting slide the JUCO Clark situation was an undeserved curveball for the Marquette coaches.  In the long run the Maymon situation will probably help the program.  (team chemistry, available scholarship to shop, etc) That scholarship should go to a player who needs time to develop but has the physical tools -- a big or a big who is transferring in.  The other ride my guess in the best case should go to a power forward who can deliver immediately.  To me that says either JUCO or prep.
