A few quick-hitters for you ...

- Brandon Prunty of the Newark Star-Ledger says this is a crucial week for Marquette, which needs to be at 3-3 in the conference before a game at Syracuse. Prunty thinks the Golden Eagles will just need to beat either Georgetown or Villanova to accomplish that, with "winnable games" against Providence and DePaul to follow.
- Speaking of that Georgetown game, Scout.com's Tim O'Malley intimates that Marquette beating the Hoyas (2-0 in the Big East) really wouldn't be an upset.
- Marquette lost out on recruit Davontay Grace, who chose St. John's over the Golden Eagles, Hofstra and West Virginia.
- Dwyane Wade recently saved a library in south Chicago by opening up his checkbook.
