There are only 347 DI teams so this is a bit strange.  They're ranked 343rd in the rankings I've seen.

How is a guy that is a good X and O's person (at least while at Marquette) have a team that bad?  I wonder if he is losing his drive or something?  Yes, I know talent is 75% of coaching but there is the other 25%.

#362 of 347 is indeed impressive.

Sometimes I have seen DII teams mixed in with DI.

Call it an "over achievement".
All this talk of rights.  So little talk of responsibilities.

wagner lost at home to New Jersey IT which has lost almost every game since they went to D 1, would seem to think Deane's days are numbered.  I believe Wagner has a neighborhood campus on Staten Island so at least Mike doesn't have to drive to all the local taverns.

Did Deane ever clean up his act? I heard the stories about the drinking and boorish behavior while at MU.  The weirdest stories involved his behavior while drunk - pinching or biting women on the ass, crude "jokes," womanizing, etc...

I will say that when Crean first arrived his deportment and sense of PR savvy were a breath of fresh air. He laid some some discipline with regard to the team, freshened up the image, and began initiating contacts within Milwaukee and the national sports writing ranks. I thought at the time it was fortunate we no longer had Deane representing the MU community. I will say that, as far as I know, Crean wasn't out after games biting women on the butt in bars.

In Deane's defense, he has 9 freshman and sophomores, with 7 of them being freshman.  Not an excuse but certainly doesn't help not having a lot of experience.
