How are we looking at? Where are we going from here? What do you think will happen come spring signing season?

Rockmic87

Would Buzz take a shot at a one and done type player like Cincy and Lance Stephenson?

Rockmic87

Is anyone else nervous in the direction this program is going in? Especially recruiting wise? I just see MU struggling for the next couple of years. With injuries, tranfers, lack of size in recruits, I don't see MU being a top 8 Big East team within the next 2-3 years.

Of course he would.  MU would be extremely lucky to get a guy like that............

Yep, Crean was 100x the recruiter Buzz is.

Didn't quite get that vibe about the recruiting. Maybe a fourth or fifth post in a row would have gotten the point across.

-Injuries: Not recruiting related...a foot injury can happen whether your a 5 star or a walk on
-Transfers: Only 2 of Buzz's players have transfered. Roseboro was clearly not hacking it which is admittedly Buzz's fault for misevaluating.  Maymon is a story that has been told at this point and I don't hold Buzz to be fully responsible for that
-Lack of Size: ?? I'm not sure what you mean here.  O'Tule is big enough. Mbao is big enough. There just aren't a lot of Big East Caliber 7 footers out there...and they tend to go to bigger name programs before MU.  We will never (at least not in the near future) compete with UCONN, UNC, UK, etc for recruits. Get over it.
- MU will be a top 8 Big East team next year.

Jamail Jones, Vander Blue and Reggie Smith don't make me nervous.   Should they?

I got sucked in today but this is a rebuilding year if there ever was one so I'm going to try to not get too emotionally vested this year.

Other than yeah, we need to get a 6'8" bruiser to MU, I'm pretty stoked about MU's future.

Nope.  I'm good.

Were you around during the Duket (sp?) years??
All this talk of rights.  So little talk of responsibilities.

MU better be a top 8 team next year....if a former terrible recruiter and terrible coach can get them into the top 8 every single year (without riding Dwyane Wade)....

LOL

Recruiting isn't an issue, Buzz is recruiting just fine (as long as they get in and stay).

Are you serious??  You must be a Badger fan, who trolls the MU board.  If not, please, for the sake of common sense and reason - reLAX.  We just took the Number 6 team in the country, on their home court to the wire...IN A REBUILDING YEAR.  If not for 2 fluke 3-point shots, the one at the halftime buzzer and the one at the end of game...MU wins.  Never did Tom Crean assemble back-to-back TOP 20 rated recruiting classes.  Buzz did in his first 2 years at the helm at MU.  All of this BIG MAN talk needs to stop (lack of size in recruits).

No one said 7'.  And there certainly are guys with size out there to be had... WVU started 5 of them yesterday.  We don't have to compete with UCONN, UNC, UK, etc., but we do need to compete with everyone else.

All that being said, I think Buzz is doing a fine job recruiting size - he hasn't had enough time to do a complete turnaround and has had some tough breaks.  McMorrow and Otule were recruited to be on this team.  Mbakwe may have helped.  The nameless one in Texas had size.  So it goes.

Lucky to get a guy like that???  Shouldn't this be in teal, or don't you know who Lance Stephenson is?  There's a reason a player of his caliber fell into UC's lap. Several reasons in fact.  He basically "chose" UC by default.

Do you ever get tired of hijacking every thread to a) pledge allegiance to your boy, b) misrepresent what those critical of TC say and c) throw a dig at Buzz? I do.

Not worried about the future of our program or the recruiting that has happened and will continue to happen into the future...

He may have been a terrible recruiter and crappy coach that rode Dwyane Wade to IU, but at least he was one heck of a classy guy.  I hope my boys grow up to be just like TC.  I got them tanning bed gift certificates and braclets for xmas...WWTCD.

Sometimes I wish there were an option to ignore key words in posts...that way I'd never have to read about Crean again.

You're right...but I guess I was just assuming that if the origional poster was criticizing our ability to recruit height, he must have meant 6-10+ height.  I don't think Buzz can be criticized for the sort of "WV height" - look at Jones.
