Didn't realize we were that high, all-time. Amazing that the "elite" program to the west has only been ranked for two more weeks than us this decade.

On a semi-related note, Northwestern was ranked this week for the first time since 1969.

Interesting.  Thanks for that.  I was surprised our highest ranking in the 2000's was #8 (I believe last year).  Isn't there a poll at the end of the season?  Maybe that is new.  Because one would think we finished in the Top 5 in 2003.

That is interesting.  I thought we were #6 in the season-ending poll in 2003.  Maybe that doesn't count since it is not in-season?

Not sure about last year but we were definitely #8 in 2006 after beating Texas Tech and Duke in the CBE Classic. I know because our next game was a bizarre one at Valpo, where DJ had to hit a three at the buzzer to quell the upset bid. Valpo plays in an arena with a capacity slightly larger than the Al and that gym got LOUD late in the game.

But I didn't mind. I had seats 4 rows behind the Marquette bench for $12. Woohoo for Mid-Con/Horizon League ticket prices.

There is no final AP poll for hoops.

We were #6 in the final USA Today/ESPN Coaches poll which was done after the Final Four.  The last AP Poll for the year was done before the NCAA Tournament

Gotcha.  That explains it.  Thanks.

It definitely doesn't take into account March Madness, because Maryland's highest ranking is #2 on that site, even though they won the tournament earlier this decade.
