the cadougan thing really stings this year. the size of our guards is really embarrassing for division one. however, the junior cadougan injury may actually help in a perverse type of way. cadougan redshirts this year, as does otule. two years from now you have a seasoned cadougan and vander blue in the backcourt. up front you have maymon, otule and mbao (mbao playing center). the time together and the maturing of the players will make a very dangerous team. hopefully we add some horses along the way. tyshon taylor of kansas was ours under tom crean. he would have helped drastically this year. now he is fifth option on kansas.

You're gonna see something more athletic than Maymon, Otule and Mbao in the starting line-up.

I get the Otule and Mbao comment, but Maymon? I think he's going to plenty athletic in two years.  I'm not one to project players that far ahead, but I certainly don't think that a smaller, more mobile Blair type player is out the question for Maymon.

I should have been more clear.  There will be a swingman on the front line too.  My guess is that it will be Otule, Maymon and James.

You haven't taken into account Blackshear and Shaw?  ;)

Seriously, the way Buzz recruits we can see a very different team in 3 years. Also, I expect Maymon, to be complimented with EWill and Jones at the other forward spot.  I really hope Otule and/or Mbao develop into good players but they are still projects.

I am really excited by the potential at guard for the next couple of years.  Cadougan, Blue and DJO could be the next "big three".

I'm mostly looking forward to Buzz being able to REALLY play the uptempo, flowing basketball he knows how to coach.  Don't get me wrong, the Big 3 were awesome, but it seemed at times that they were having to reverse 3 years of set-minded offense (I don't want to make this a Crean debate, I'm not advocating one over the other).

My only concern remains the experience level at the point guard position next year.  That will be a raw area, but a very talented area.  Should be fun to watch.  Beyond that, if Buzz can get the athletes he is looking for, then all will work out fine.
