Clam Crowder

I feel like the team needs Lazar to be a leader. A leader we can look at to score when were in trouble, and today all he did was turn the ball over and play awful defense. He left DJO up against a 6 foot 7 player about 3 times for easy lay ups and always looked at DJO as if he was to blame. Lazar needs to step it up and be a leader. Jimmy seems to be the leader of this team, an underspoken leader who has played above expectations so far this year. Lazar has been great, but in the last 2 games it has become apparent the team has no leadership when the going gets rough

Lazar is simply forcing the issue to much.  Needs to let the game come to him.  The team needs to pass the ball more ans stop dribbling and forcing the ball to Lazar in tight quarters.

Agreed LH is forcing it.  In my uneducated opinion Marquette needs to get back to basics.  Ball movement, paint touches, kick outs, and hopefully hitting open shots.  Right now, other than JB we do not have someone realiable to put the ball on the floor and drive to the hoop.

On the defensive side, try to deny the ball to the interior, double big guys, and hope the opposing team doesn't hit too many perimeter shots.  That's about all we can do.

On another note, where was Fulce in the 2nd half?  I thought he played a great first half, I thought he didn't see too many minutes in the 2nd half.

Clam Crowder

I agree, Fulce looked pretty good in the first half, but maybe he was too tired to perform to Buzz' standards in the second half. The 7 man rotation is foolish, and it needs to change. Give a guy a break especially in the first half when your up by 10. If lazar needs a rest put in williams for a couple of minutes just to let Lazar take a breather, even let Mbao play a bit. If he's not being redshirted why waste him like this. Give him a chance coming up in the easier games such Presbyterian, and North Florida. If he gets the experience maybe he will be able to make a little contribution in BE play. I also think the three guard line up is showing its faults. Acker and Buycks looked awful today excluding Acker in the last 2 minutes hitting 3 pointers.

He isn't a true #1 option, but he's best when he lets the game come to him. Forced too much, against much bigger bodies. I hate seeing Cooby and Acker on the floor together. I would rather take my lumps than seeing those two together with virtually no options for offense than a wide open three. Interior defense was nothing less than pathetic. Old Spice set us up for unrealistic expectations. Our talent has us set up for middle-of-the-road BE finish which is where most of us had us anyway. Exciting future, but everyone here knows we are not there. Result today was a slap back to reality, nothing more or less. Let's take care of Milwaukee and focus on rodents. Lazar will have better days. I'm hoping December 12th is one of those days.

I think, too, without a lot of penetration to the rim by the guards, Lazar's 3 is falling off - maybe not as open as with the Amigos.  But he certainly seems to be strugglign with the 3 ball this year.  If that returns, will help a lot.
