The last 11 games
« on: November 28, 2009, 01:46:47 PM »
After seeing how Big East teams have come out these first few games, I think our last 11 games in conference are all very winnable.  After almost certain losses to nova 2x, at WVU, and at Syracuse, with somewhat winnable game against Georgetown and likely wins against Providence at home and at DePaul, the schedule gets easier.

I think we can go 9-2 or 8-3 if we play like we have played the last two games, and we have 2 top 100 freshman on the bench who are going to figure it out.

10 or 11 wins in conference is not completely out of the picture for us.  (We are lucky we play DePaul and Providence 2x)

If we can take 2/3 from FSU, NC ST, and Wisco, we should be dancing again.

Barring injury...which has been the bane of this program.

Agreed, but I dont want to get too ahead of myself still. We are small and not very deep off the bench with our unlucky injuries, experience or not. Foul trouble will be a big issue in some if not many Big East games, and its gonna be important to see how we overcome that and who steps up if Hayward or Butler are limited. Going only 8 deep in most games will tire us out also. Florida St will be a great test to see since they are about the biggest overall team we will see this year.

However, there is definitely reason to be optimistic...don't forget, Marquette in most previews was picked 12th and we have SIX games against the FOUR  teams ranked lower than us in those previews and we have obviously proven we are better better than the 12th placed team many 'experts' predicted us to be in this conference.
