Butler was phenomenal last night...and some of the new guys show some real ability. That team was fun to watch.

But the highlight of the night was listening to Brute Force on the way home!!!

Welcome back, George!!! Gee...I wonder what brought him back into the fold?

mu_hilltopper

Maybe Mac was doing color for the TV broadcast?

I assume so...I saw him courtside in a shirt and tie, which I don't think he'd do for radio.

Nothing against Jimmy Mac...I love his work on radio. It was just GREAT to hear the inimitable #24!

Mac was indeed doing the tv broadcast.  Sounded like he's going to be doing the local tv stuff all year - not sure if he'll slide back to radio for the ESPN/CBS games or what.

At one point in the broadcast, George bent over and blew a kiss. Does ESPN 540's signal reach Bloomington?

ESPN 540's signal barely reaches General Mitchell. I think I get a better signal listening to 670 the score than ESPN 540.

Floats in and out in Chicago - I try to listen, but tough sometimes.  Pretty weak signal!

Robmufan and myself went on a tour of 670 the score and their coverage reaches the atlantic at night.

For those interested here are the coverage maps showing the projected reach of WAUK and WSCR.

WAUK is only a 400 Watt station, WSCR is 50,000 Watts.

http://www.radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/info?call=WAUK&service=AM

WAUK also has 2 different patterns, 1 for Daytime, and a Lower Power setting for Nighttime.

WSCR is always at 50,000 Watts.

http://www.radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/pat?call=WSCR&service=AM&status=L&hours=U

During the daytime I have no problem getting WAUK into Sheboygan. At nighttime I'm lucky if I get it at my house in Port Washington.

scr is still considered a 'clear channel' under FCC regs:

Clear   670   A,B,D   WMAQ, Chicago, IL: Class A (I-A)
KDLG, Dillingham, AK: Class (I-N)
KBOI, Boise, Idaho: Class B (II-A)

auk has less power than an electric can opener.

When told that the Old Spice Classic was over Thanksgiving, GT made a remark that he would be "close" but vacationing on an island somewhere.  So I'd expect Mac for those games, and less radio listeners than normal for games on national tv...unless a lot of people are fighting the football fans over the holiday.

As far as radio coverage, unless you're in your car for the entire game just go to ESPNMilwaukee.com.  Though I guess if you've got access to the computer finding the live stream is even better (and was also a good couple minutes ahead of the radio feed).
