Here's an interesting recruiting twist.  Kid decommits from Louisville, has high interest in MU and has a cousin in class of 2011 who also has high MU interest.

I bet Buzz's faith-based appraoch might be pretty appealing to this kid.

"...Clearly looking more relaxed and feeling more confident, Langford is also growing as a young man. He says he wants to devote more time spirituality and spreading the word about his Christian faith.

"I'm trying to get my life in order and put things into perspective. My faith is very important (he wants to eventually become a minister) to me; I want to succeed in the classroom, on the court, but most importantly in life.""

Has Pitino's table dance started to affect recruiting?

Do we need another 6' 6" small forward for next year?  I'd rather have one of UL's 4 or 5 star center commitments for 2011.

yes, we do, especially one that is consistantly ranked in the top 100, and seems to have good character.

are you kidding me?

This would be a great "double" win for Buzz if this kid signs with MU...MU gets a highly talented player and at the same time you take him away from Louisville.  It's a no-brainer.

dwaderoy2004

well, maybe, at some point, this kid was in the top 100.  But none of Rivals, Scout nor ESPN has him in their top 100 for 2010.  Looks like a solid 3 star recruit, though.

GGGG

There may be a reason that Louisville hasn't talked to him for six weeks.

Might want to do some fact checking before you go making statements like that.  The three largest of the recruiting services(Scout, Rivals, ESPN) do not have Langford as part of their Top 100.  Bob Gibbons and USA Today have him in the Top 100, but he's far from consensus.

At one point, Langford was a Top 100 player, but his stock has been dropping a lot lately, as he hasn't developed the way people thought he would.

I only read the article.

Pitino may have been turned off by Langford's focus on developing his character...

Based on his comments you'd have to think MU has a good shot.  Its the only institution that offers religion based education correct?

GGGG

Well, we are the only school that has a Theology requirement if that's what you mean.  I am not sure "religious-based education" is the correct term.

Regardless, I look at bma's comments and wonder if this is really the guy we want.  Louisville knows what it is doing.  There is a reason they are cooling on this guy.
