the fact that 5 of MU's 8 turnovers were on some very questionable offensive fouls...some called a split second before ne contace was close to being made

Higgins definatly likes to call those offensive fouls

spiral97

agreed - the foul calling certainly was offensive.  good to see our team not be bothered by them and to play in control regardless.

MU got a gift on the offensive foul they called and counted the basket.  I believe it was McNeal early in the second half.  I think he shot it about when the defensive player's butt was hitting the floor.  The refs even got together to talk about it and still counted it.  I thought it must have been a makeup call.

I noticed later in the game there was a charge against PU and their coach immediately lobbied to have the basket count, but they didn't count that one.  I thought PU's basket was much closer than the one they counted for MU.

That gift "Count the basket" for MU on the offensive foul was both terrible and impossible.  I don't know how a NCAA ref could have made that call, or how the other 2 didn't overrule him.  It was just awful.

That being said, I don't really feel bad for PU, because there were 5 bad calls on the other end for ever one that benefited MU.  PU seemed to score immediately after every single missed obvious travel call (at least 4).

Agreed, the definition of a bad ref is one who has the ability to make a call that causes both coaches to go ballistic...  That zebraing was ridiculous.
