We look lackadaisical.  Better crank it up.

Overall an uninspiring effort, thankfully Clark produced a bit of magic.

Going to DC in October is really, really tempting since it looks like they'll need a result to qualify.

Boy but Costa Rica losing two this week has really screwed them over.  Even a worst case scenario...US losing to Honduras and Costa Rica beating T&T, just means that all that is needed is a draw for the US to qualify on the 14th.

Because I don't really know....

What level of expectations do I need to have, should the US qualify for the WC?  Do I expect the team that beat Spain, the team that got stomped by Mexico(and i know that wasn't the full squad) or somewhere in the middle?

My feeling that if the US gets to the WC, they should get out of group play and qualify for the round of 16.  Any win in that round would be a bonus.

The U.S. will be adding a couple of international players in Edgar Castillo and Jermaine Jones, and presumably both will be upgrades. But the lack of anything in the midfield will kill them, against better competition at the WC. I expect a similar tournament to 06, a disappointment.

Have to agree with the lack of midfield right now. With another year, hopefully Bradley, Feilhaber, Holden, Clark or someone can come onto the scene as a legitimate meistro for this team.  Also, Dempsey needs to be dropped from regular appearances if he is going to play like he has been. Very little has been done by him that suggests he is more deserving of a spot than the youngsters on the bench.
