A date that is close to when we should expect single game tickets to go on sale for the MU vs. UW game this year?

MarquetteFan94

2 years ago they went on sale the first week of October...they had only singles available.

Yeah, it's really damn hard getting tickets to the Kohl Center.  Even for hockey games you're more likely than not only going to get upper deck tickets in groups (I've only been to two with a buddy of mine that went there to watch a kid from our high school play)

Chili

they hardly ever have them.
But I like to throw handfuls...

You'll be able to pick up tickets outside the Kohl at face or less.  Unless somehow UW is doing really well and is ranked.  Then you may have to pay over face.  There seem to be plenty of tickets available outside the Kohl on game days.

That may be true for upper deck, crap seats.  Lower bowl is a different story. I paid $175 for 3-point line 20 rows up two years ago.

Ditto...always tickets for sale outside the Kohl.

My nephew is attending law school in Madison and has already guaranteed 4 seats together for the game....I'm pretty freaking pumped!

Yikes.  Myself and 3 of my other friends ended up with 3 tickets, 10 rows up in the middle of the UW student section 2 years ago for $60 a piece.  I'm just trying to make it all 4 years to the UW vs. MU games.

Damn wade.  How were you treated in the ever-feared Grateful Red?

Haha looking back I actually don't remember it being that bad, but I remember on the drive home we talked about how we could not see MU fans treating UW fans so poorly at the BC, so maybe it was worse than I remember.  We actually had the first 3 inside seats in the left section behind the basket, and then one of our friend's sister had the seat just to our left (and we had no idea we would be sitting next to her either, I bought the tickets off of ebay).  I got quite a few middle fingers basically stuck up my nose and a lot of people yelling when we would cheer.  I thought being on the aisle would be nice in order to have 1 less Badger fan next to us, but after the game I took a lot of shoulders lowered into mine (as Lazar ran down to our end, popped his jersey, and found us in our yellow and started pointing to us), so that kind of sucked.  People weren't too pleased when the "We are Marquette" chear started with about 1:30 left, but that was while they were leaving.  The best part was finding other people wearing yellow and pointing to them and acting like we were best friends without even knowing them.

I made a sign that we had to sneak into the Kohl Center.  They don't allow signs in so my friend had to roll it up and wrap it around his leg, walking in without bending his knee.  It said "Brian Butch: 2003 McDonald's All-American, 2008 McDonald's Employee" and had a picture of him in a bikini top winking and pointing a finger at the camera.  When I took that out with about 2 minutes left I had to put it away within 10 seconds.  Lots of threats, thought I'd be dead if I kept it out much longer.

'Word', I was up in the UW student section two years ago as well.. I think I paid.. $100 for a pair?  My buddy and I were decked out in MU gear and were LOUD.  After a rude reception from most of the students, we threw out a some cheap shots, including, a chant of "PUB-LIC SCHOOOO-OOOOL"... but for the most part were reasonably well behaved and exceptionally well behaved compared to the little kids around us.  But, I don't blame them -- we were in the student section.

Bucky was turning red all around us.. the entire second half there were several security people two feet from us.. initially they came over to 'warn us' because we had 'used profanity', I think we had said, 'a$$' or something benign and they threatened kicking us out.  Then we asked the stupid security 'officer' if he had just heard the entire student section chanting, "a..hole, a$shole" two minutes earlier.  He acknowledged that he did hear it.  I asked if he was going to warn and/or throw all the students out along with us.  Security left us alone the rest of the night, but did stay within a few feet - but I think it was more to keep the Wisconsin kiddies from doing anything more irrational than usual.

Winning the game was great.  The drive back to Minneapolis immediately after the game was not.  White out conditions on 94... If I make it on 12/12 this year I may grab a hotel room with wadsworlds girlfriend and leave Sunday.

That's fantastic!  Thanks for the story.

You think so?  By the way, it would be wadesworld's.  You forgot the e in Wade and the '.  I can play the game, too, and boy is it fun!  But I'm pretty sure she would not be a fan of your music, so I'm not too sure you'd get lucky.

Also to go along with their security, it was pretty ridiculous.  It was weird because their student section is assigned seating and the doors open only an hour and a half before tip-off, so nobody showed up until about 3 minutes before the introductions.  We went in right when the doors opened, and about an hour and 20 minutes before the game, with still nobody in the arena, a friend of ours came over to talk to us, and the security guard wouldn't even let him into the section at that point.  We then were talking in the tunnel that led into our section, and after about 2 minutes he told us we had to get out of there, again with nobody in the arena and nothing going on at all.  It was pretty weird.

great story Wade but the color is "Gold" no matter how yellow it looks

Correct, my bad.

Thanks for the story, Wade.  Just makes me realize I'm too old and grumpy to deal with the opposing team's student section anymore. I sat with a bunch of blue hair/red shirt alumni who pretty much remained silent but for a few times. I totally get what you're saying about looking around for other MU brethren. The only person within shouting distance was George Koonce, and he had his six shooters out "virtually" high fiving us while the Badger faithful just  looked on in disgust. Great game.
