Cool for the kid, but not as good as I'd hoped it would be.

I think it's a pretty darn nice dunk.  Lebron is 100% going for the block, not some weak attempt where he's already pulling back by the time Crawford's dunking.  Two handed dunk while drawing some contact on the body.  I'm a fan.

Why the heck did LeBron or Nike reps feel it necessary to take the tape. This is no big deal at all. A kid not being guarded by LeBron had a full head of steam towards the rim with no one on him and wasn't intimidated by LeBron challenging his dunk attempt. No way Lebron can be expected to block that shot and at least he went up to challenge.

Agree.  I really don't see the big deal either and how it effects NIKE.  Its a pick-up game.  But now the kid has his 15 seconds of fame and does have some jump in him.

Yeah the video was pretty disappointing. LeBron is a tool. First he won't shake hands with the Magic because he's "a winner" then he tries to keep this video from getting out.

Plus does anyone understand the insurance commercial where a guys car gets broken into and LeBron and his friend just dance as the guy is clearly upset?

This is weak.  I kept watching the video thinking I missed it.  Lebron tried to block it at the last minute from the side.  Guess I don't see what all the hype is about.

Now this on the other hand..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r3H77gIpYi8

Weak. The dunk was fine and all, but I never would have give it a second thought.

"Dunking on somebody" is the most overrated schlock in basketball.

It's a dunk.  With someone in the way.  BFD.

The guy going up for the dunk is generally tall and is no light-weight.  The guy trying to stop isn't going to impede the progress of some 200 pound dude flying at him.   But somehow, everyone goes "oooooooohhhhh, someone got dunked on" like it makes him less of a man.

Please.

I don't care who you are but when you play bball for a living you will inevitably get dunked on at least once but since LBJ is the golden child he gets what he wants.

Color me not impressed, it's not like he took the guy's nuts to his chin like has happened to me (and I'm sure a lot of others on this board).

I remember there was a Dr Dre/snoop/etc song back in the day about this very situation, but it wasn't a song about basketball.

By having the tapes confiscated by Nike, Lebron made this a bigger deal than it ever would have been.  By Lebron's reaction, you would have thought someone did a one-handed tomahawk on Lebron while Lebron was committed to the blocking the dunk.

Lebron is just another reason why I loathe the NBA.

I don't get what all the fuss is about. First of all, it's a pick up game, not an actual NBA game. Pick up games are not exactly known for hard nosed defense as shown by Crawfords direct line to the hoop with no one stepping in until the last minute. Also, he doesn't even come close to dunking OVER LeBron. LeBron comes in at the last minute and tries to take a swipe at the ball from the side.

When I was looking at this online, another dunk came up, the Baron Davis dunk on Kirlenko. Pretty nice dunk in real time, but when you take the game context and look at again, its not that great. First of all, the Warriors were up big, at least 20. Deron Williams, basically just stops on a pic and roll and gives Davis a direct shot to the hoop. Kirlenko comes in at the last second and goes up but actually looks like he tries to turn away and get out of the way. Very nice in-game dunk, but not that great.

If LeBron is so concerned about his image that he confiscated this video, I can't help but wonder if it will impact his desire to play help-side defense.  What a stupid reaction to playing bball.

And I agree about that commercial w/Lebron.  Its never made sense to me.

Impressive is DJ's block against the Vols and Jerel's block against McRoberts of Duke a couple of years ago.   Yeah, 'rel was called for the foul, but it was clean.

I thought the commercial was pretty simple...

Have State Farm and then you don't have to worry.  And you will be so carefree you can do the Kid N'Play trademark dance.

I immediately thought of Acker getting tea-bagged vs. Dayton last year.
