McNeal a hit

As was reported here awhile back, Jerel McNeal was invited to celebrate his 22nd birthday by throwing out the first pitch for his beloved Chicago White Sox.

He toed the slab on Monday at U.S. Cellular Field, prior to what turned out to be a 6-2 victory over the Oakland A's, and delivered a strike to pitcher Mark Buehrle -- a Missouri fan who just so happened to let McNeal know about where his allegiances lie afterward.

Here's a couple of photos, courtesy of the White Sox and photographer Ron Vesely, provided by Lou Hernandez, director of public relations for the team and MU grad.

Finally, McNeal is expected to work out for the Milwaukee Bucks next week. Word has it that his session might also include potential first-round picks Ty Lawson of North Carolina, Jrue Holiday of UCLA and Eric Maynor of VCU.

Do NBA teams plan on making him a PG or what?   Why working out with 3 other PG's?

Besides that, what a time he must have had!  Good for him!

Most likely. Think about it. he'd be an undersized shooting guard and he has the ability to be a Rajon Rondo type player.

Maybe to see what the PGs can do to a solid defender, if they can defend a scorer like McNeal, AND if McNeal can possibly play the PG.

Not sure about the workouts, but I believe I had read in the Daily Southtown in Chicago that one of the White Sox PR directors is an MU alumnus, so that's probably how Jerel got in with the Sox.

Good point.  I think he has to work on his court vision and ball handling a bit-too many times last year he would dribble himself into trouble.  But he does have a better shot and more range than RR, IMO.
