Jerry Smith ~ Not as good as our Big 3 - just saw him play against Syracuse.  However, Russell Carter looks good.  Lots of MU talk during the games - must be good for recruiting!

You heard it here first. Davante Gardner will be a Beast this year.

Since we are at about the halfway point of the conference season does anyone want to take a guess as to which 4 teams are going to get byes and which 4 won't make the tourny?

My guess is that Pitt, MU, Georgetown and Syracuse get the byes and USF, Rutgers, Cincy and Seton Hall dont make it MSG.

Notre Dame looks good - cant count them out.  Carter is a special player.

ND is good at home... not so good on the road.  I think we'll lose at ND but win versus them on our way to the Big East Conference Tournament Championshhip!!

We won't lose to ND at ND, especially considering how we've been playing on the road thus far and how many tickets we've bought up in the Joyce Center. If you watched the ND v. Nova game today, ND literally gave the game away three times in the last 20 or so seconds, but Nova just couldn't capitalize. The 15-0 record at home is intimidating, but it doesn't quite accurately reflect how good they are.

Plus, the last time they lost at home was to Marquette  ;D

I can't wait for the ND game...yeah road trip to South Bend!!!  ;D

The loss of McAlarney really hurts ND.  Before his suspension I would have chalked that game up as a loss, now I think we win.  Also I think we have the personnel to contain Carter.

Notre Dame is good, but certainly not a write-in loss for Marquette.  We won there last year, and I think that our speed and athleticism cannot be matched by the Irish.  ND has struggled against quick teams, and we can run them off the court.

It will be a tough game, but I am confident of a Marquette win.  We have already won three conference road games, all at venues that are considerably more difficult to play at than the Joyce Center.

I am more concerned about Georgetown if we are going to talk about potential losses.  If MU continues to play at this level, I think we only lose two more games in the regular season.

I think UL is going to be a tougher game than Georgetown.

Forget whether or not Georgetown is a bad matchup for us--we are an incredibly bad matchup for them.

They have to hold the opponents score under 70 to win, and we've topped that number in the last five games.  In fact, we've won ever game where we've scored 70 or more.  I simply don't see that Georgetown has the backcourt to slow us down.
