Big Papi

I don't know how we win with McNeal and Matthews having horrible games.

77ncaachamps

Are you kidding me, Marquette?!?

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!?!?!?

My blood pressure was literally a roller coaster the last 4 minutes!!!

GO MARQUETTE!

GO GO GO GO!

USU played a helluva second half though. Those "fouled outs" by Quayle and Wesley WERE HUGEEEEEEEEEEEEE.
SS Marquette

Blackhat

not the best offensive game we've played but the fellas played hard on D and did just enough....take any NCAA tourney game you get and move on.

Big Papi

I really don't know how we won.

Missed a ton of no footers early in the game.
McNeal and Matthews couldn't hit any shots.
At the end they were all extremely tight.  I have never seen them so tight before.  Badly missed free throws by Matthews and Hayward, near air balls.  And at times no one really wanted the ball when clock was under 3 minutes.

mwbauer7

How did we win?

Lazar carried us on his back.

chapman

Besides Lazar, nobody could have played worse.  That's good news I guess.

MUrugger

Couldn't have played worse??  How about bad enough to lose??  How about a Jerel miss on the drive??  How about shooting something less than 82% on free throws??  Criminy, we were down six with about three minutes left.

Stone Cold got it right.  At this time of year just win and move on baby!

Now we can argue all season about what kind of season it was.  This team at this time with a win in the Tourney, defying most of the so-called experts, my vote is that it tops most of the nearly 40 years that I've been following the Warrior Eagles.

Who's got next?

Peoples_Republic_Warrior

I'm actually very encouraged by this, although we probably should have lost this game. Wes and Jerel go a combined 6-26, jimmy scores 2 points with 4 rebounds and fouls out but we still beat a team who won 30 games. Yes, we played like crap, but we played like crap and will won the game, isn't that all that matters? I think we got a little lazy after our 14 point lead and we just got sloppy, our D looked GREAT in the first half, even in the second half too, our offense was just awful.

SERocks

I don't know what to think.  We won which is good.  However, we should have won by 20 or more.  I was very unimpressed by USU.  All that being said, they took us out of our game, so props to them for that.

But, back to focus on MU....that was just bad.  A decent team will kick our butt if we play like that again.  Heck South Florida would have beaten us today.

nyg

South Florida already took us.

Win is a win and move on, thats the name of the game.   Jerel and Wes probably know they stunk the place up, but Lazar came through. Now its their turn Sunday.

I know, but there was no way anyone would buy it if I had said, "Heck, DePaul would have beaten us today."

:)

The downside is that we won't get to view the Utah State cheerleaders any more.  They were impressive.

The USU cheerbiscuits were delectable.  UCLA is still tops though.

Too bad they are all married to the same man probably, stupid polygamy...perhaps mormonism is the one true religion after all?

I agree, but that was a sweet drive by McNeal in the last minute.  Many have said he sucks at the end of the game, but his drive to the basket w/ 6-9 Wesley in his grill was huge.

How did we not lose that game?

THEGYMBAR

Winning ugly sometimes can be a good thing. Unfortunately we probably got our lucky one out of our system and now will have to win games.
Drawing a blank here, who did we beat in first round of '03 again? That was a lucky, ugly win. Maybe this sparks the boys to bigger things.

Crean would have found a way to lose this game.

why are people not more mad at Jerel for his mid shot clock drive against 3 defenders? Oh that's right, because he made the shot... Everyone was ready to run him out of town for taking a similar shot against Nova. Just goes to show that great players want the ball in tough spots, that was the real tipping point i thought, putting us up 3.

anyway, enough about this, lets move on to mizzou!

THEGYMBAR

I agree that Crean might have found a way to lose this one. I sure hope Buzz is learning a ton this year regarding game coaching because he has a long way to go.
