Here are one Jimmy Butler's stats since DJ went out.
10.2 PPG, 6.8 RPG, 1.2 APG, .3 TO/G, 1 Block/ Game , .5 Steals / game

Wilkinson is the only player on USU to have better averages than Butler

Another note.  Included in the averages for Jimmy Butler is the Pitt game.  Jimmy played only 20 minutes and put up 1 pt, 1 reb, 0A, 0 TO, 0 Blocks, and 0 Steals.  So pretty much Butler is averaging the above stats for 6 games, but has really only done anything in 5 of them.  If you remove the Pitt game from Butler's line his averages look like this.

12 PPG, 8 RPG, 1.6 APG, .4 TO/G, 1.2 B/ Game, .6 SPG

Jimmy has really been spectacular.

I agree, he has been spectacular, but to be fair, if Wes and Jerel's shots were falling over those games, Jimmy's stats would be lower.

The thing I like most about Butler is his skyrocket improvement. I've never seen a guy improve at the rate he has.

I think Jerel last year was more deciding to take over. Those skills were there. Jimmy has vastly improved this season. He was thrown into a much higher level of play and responded at an astonishing rate.

He's been improving noticeably every single game and he's been so fun to watch. Keep it up Jimmy!

I wrote a piece of Jimmy Butler on my blog a while back after our drubbing from Villanova in which he played turnstile defense and missed a few free throws.  I looked and talked about how his PER had been fantastic and that his stats throughout the year had climbed by the month.

I think he has done an excellent job and has skyrocketed in March, and his current PER is 15.7, higher than Dominic's at the time of this piece I wrote.  Guy is playing out of his mind!  He will be a key contributor against USU and even more against Mizzou's fast big men (if we are lucky enough to get there).

Getting back to JB33, do we see him being able to front Wilkinson or will Lazar get that responsibility?  Looking at the lineup, I think I might rather have Dwight take Tai Wesley and shut him down and just go with the Cunningham/Harangody approach with Wilkinson.   By that I mean just understanding that he is going to get his points and try to front him with helpside defense down low from Lazar.  We did this with Thabeet as well.
