Some points on the game (some based on previous posts) :

1.  I am glad we did not double the post.  First, the Ooze has shown that he is a capable defender against good bigs.  Sure, Gray might score, but let him have 2s rather than kick out 3s.  I HATE double teaming the post, because that's what usually happens.

2.  Packer is an idiot, I can't stand his commentary.  In OT, James drove and kicked for a wide open 3 (a very good look, too) for Matthews, and Packer criticized that, saying he needed to keep the ball.  Later on, James dribbled the ball almost the whole shot clock, forced a bad 3, which Packer said was a "bad possession".  At least, though, we didn't get Gus "I'm having an anuerism!!" Johnson doing the game.

3.  Yes, yes, yes, it is extremely annoying that we go into this protective "shell" with a lead late in the game, and we've done this for a long time now.  I understand we need to mooch the clock, but we don't play with ANY aggressiveness at all.  Relax for 20-25 seconds of the shot clock, then go attack the hoop and get a good shot!

4.  We were ASTONISHINGLY quicker than Pitt.  DJ, McNeal, Matthews could get to the hoop at will.  Resulted in horrific games for Fields and Cook, they had no answer for our speed.

5.  Whoever worked with the team FT shooting this week--GAMEBALL!!

6.  Is Gray not the most dirty, cheap, scumbag player in the conference?  He shoves and elbows Cubillan, and last year elbowed Barro.  He's basically just a white Jason Maxiell.  So glad that goon missed those 2 FTs--sweet justice.

7.  Levon Kendall, seriously...1990 called, it wants it's haircut back!  And nice pass/turnover at the end of OT, thanks.

agree on some-

otherwise:

1
so we didn't (always) double the post, and the same result- hot shooting of 3's by at least Ramon.
not sure doubling Gray would have had a different outcome in that end.

2
yup

3
yup, but start it earlier than 10 left- as it takes us much longer than that in our regular offense if we're not on the break, etc...
a good shot is the goal, with clock milking/management a byproduct.

4
yup

5
yup

6
disagree-
you use some pretty strong words, accusations and comparisons... I personally didn't think it was (much of) a cheap shot-  2 guys tangled up to a degree, heading downcourt...  court have been much worse... decent no call, imo.
I thought more than Gray being 'dirty' he was teflon when it came to travelling calls or 3 second calls.
he played physical, but save for that incident at the end, a pretty uncontroversial type of game.

7
big time yup.
I guess it takes upwards near 17 years to get trends all the up to British Columbia, eh?
