Who is more valuable: Wes or DJ?

Who has been more valuable this year?

DJ
Wes

legacy

Jerel is obviously the most valuable player on the team, but I was curious who people think is more important out of the other three amigos.  It's a tough call.

Wes has been the bigger, and far more efficient scorer, and rebounds a bit more. His height makes him a bit more flexible in terms of who he guards. I think I'd still say DJ is more critical to the teams success, however.  DJ has the fantastic assist to turnover ratio and has played tremendous defense.  I think Butler could replace Wes, with Lazar and McNeal making up the extra scoring much more easily than Acker could replace DJ.

Anyone else have thoughts?

Definately DJ. Mo Acker running the point would be a disaster for this team, especially on the defensive end of the court. Him getting beat off the dribble consistently would put our defense in a big time scrambling mode, which it already is to a certain extent with the lack of a big man to protect the paint. Defenders like DJ keep teams further out from the basket and impede their ability to run their offense smoothly.

Every time DJ steps off the court, the other team goes on a run. Yes, it hurts when Wes is sitting too...but sometimes you don't even notice. You notice every time DJ isn't on the court

DJ.

While McNeal is obviously the best player on the team, I'm not sure even he is more valuable to the current team than James.  We feel James' absence from the floor more than anyone else's.  That is obviously because we have an adequate bench player when McNeal or Wes sits, but not one when James does.
Calvin:  I'm a genius.  But I'm a misunderstood genius.
Hobbes:  What's misunderstood about you?
Calvin:  Nobody thinks I'm a genius.

Nice to see people actually appreciate what DJ does--I've been beginning to think I'm in the vast minority in appreciating what he does rather than incessantly ripping on what he doesn't do well.

Losing either one would be a huge blow, but I think we could survive (sort of) if Wes went down. If DJ were to be lost, we'd be through.

i would say DJ as well for all the reasons mentioned above.  However this team is really a sum of all it s parts and we are much weaker without Wes as well look at the first half against Georgetown or St. johns where wes is ineffective or out with fouls we stagnate on offense too and the d is weaker as well. we are a true collection a true team we are not a superstar domintaed team.  we have a bunch of good players that need to play great every night out for us to overcome our deficiencies.  Any time anyone on this team thinks we are as good as our ranking and dont have to play great every night we will have the USF, and depaul games.

I voted for DJ, but that's definitely a comment more on our second and third options at each of these positions than it is on the talent of either DJ or WM.

The alternative to Wes would be Jimmy Butler at the three.
The alternative to DJ would be Mo Acker at the point.
Given their respective play recently, that's an easy choice.

Bup. At least we know who put the jinx on DJ.

For the record, I stand my my original response...
