James' Alley-oop

Here is the alley-oop from James, one of the few highlights of the night. I didn't up the video, so I'm not responsible for the butchering of his name. I feel like this was more impressive while watching it live.

Incidentally, we tried 4 alley-oops to DJ and converted on only this one.  As fun as it is when it works, we should scuttle this play in tight games.

When we missed his first one... I believe it was tied, or we might have been down by 2 so it would tied it.

That's not a bad percentage given our overall fg percentage during this game.

I feel like this was more impressive while watching it live.

Thats because of the flow of the game. It came when we needed a little kick in the ass and we all were hoping that it would serve as the spark plug to get us back in winning position. It is a little boring highlight without the context of the game behind it.

Anyone remember a similar play to Doc Rivers his Jr. year? Until this alley oop I always thought the one made my Doc was MU's best.

I was at that game.  Rivers' jam was better than this one, but only because the lob pass was way worse.  There's a picture of it in my Marquette yearbook after he caught the ball and was on his way down and he was still head above the basket.  It came in a loss to Louisville.  It got the strangest reaction you've ever seen.  There was silence for a beat, as if people were thinking "Did I really just see that?" then total eruption.  My memory is certainly hazy, but I'm pretty sure Louisville scored a quick basket after that but the crowd didn't stop screaming and celebrating the dunk for another possession or two.  That remains the single most amazing athletic play I've seen someone wearing a Marquette uniform make.

CTWarrior---great memory!!! I was 14 beers into the game when that happened but I agree the pass was much more behind Doc. That dunk and his shot against ND were the two plays I remember most about Doc.
