that kid is a keeper!!  wow what athleticism, great knack to be in the right spot.  I really like him cerebral yet athletic as heck!!

Daniel

Was great to see him playing, and he was playing hard.  4 fouls is an issue, but one of themn I thought was aphantom foul.  He played tough on D and got us some nice points - his 6 came in pretty handy.

Alright Joe!  Let's see more of ya!
GO MARQUETTE!!

bma725

Only problem with him I saw(the fouls were ticki-tac) was that he doesn't hedge out on screens at all.  I think he did it once total, and the lack of doing it allowed the guy with the ball to have a free path into the lane for a basket or dish.  The other bigs always go out on the screen and while they may get beat occasionally, at least it is somewhat of a deterrent to the guy with the ball.  Once he corrects that, he'll be fine.

AZWarrior

Let's hope this game turns out to be Joe's coming out party!  ;D
All this talk of rights.  So little talk of responsibilities.

Big Papi

i thought his defense early in the second half was brutal.  Was getting beat off the dribble way too easily and it seemed like Providence was picking on him whenever they could.  With more experience his defense will get a lot better.

LastWarrior

Great effort off the bench by Joe.  I was very impressed with his energy and ability to finish.  Looks like Buzz is really putting our bench players in the game with a chance to succeed.

Energy is there. Defense...not yet.

If he can hold his own and know where to be on the floor as MU d's up, watch out. This team will be VERY dangerous in March.

Amen. He scored 6, but gave up 10+. But...the bright side is he's still getting into the groove and within a couple weeks, he should be much better...at least...I hope he is from a defensive standpoint. Still....what a win.

MR.HAYWARD

dont get me wrong...his defense was indeed terrible...I dont think that was lost on Buzz either.  But Burke nor Hazel had any chance of staying in front of #2!!   His fouls were a product of his poor defense.  But this as a kid playing in what his 4th games?  Just a step slow but he was not lost,  he is close very close and with that athleticism, that touch?  this kid is for real!!  He is exciting and oooozing with potential!! No game sthis week more time to coach and allow Joee to ctahc up, let hope fora 30 point blowout over Duhpaul so Otule and Joe and Cubi can get 10 minutes each!!

32NCAAs

His defense was absolutely brutal.  With that said he had a tough assignments and was playing out of position (damn you Tom Crean).  I like his prospects to contribute key minutes down the stretch.  We can only hope O'Tule can add some minutes too.

hey Hayward, - your first post w/o a Crean job!!!!

Fulce was great on O, but a little slow on D

Don't worry, this thread will get hijacked as soon as Chicos comes and mentions that Fulce is a Crean recruit.   ;D

His defense didn't look too bad to me.  It looked like he was sent in to belly up on his assignment and was told not to play any help deffense, so it looked a bit odd, but I have to believe that was what he was told to do.

On offense he looked very comfortable.  He hit his first shot without any hesitation, and I watched him off the ball and he was very active and surely looking for the ball.  I thought it was a big step for him.  Buzz is rough on the freshmen, but I have to believe we'll see his playing time go up?  I suppose it depends on the match-ups...

NavinRJohnson

His defense was pitiful. He looks like he may be able to play though, and hopefully the D improves. Right now he looks like a slightly better version of Blackledge, though I suspect the upside may be quite a bit higher - looks to be a bit more skilled.

Sungod

Everybody was getting beat off the dribble last night.   What was the stat at the end of the 1st half for Providence - 30 + points in the paint?  Not really looking at his D, I was impressed with Fulce's ability to catch the ball and finish at the hoop.  Those 6 points at the end of the 1st half kept us in the game (< 10 point deficit).

I agree with that...looks like he'll be able to score some points around the basket. Problem may be with him getting opportunities as for him to get in the game he will more than likely be matched up with the likes of Young, Summers, Adrien, Samuels, etc. Unless the D we saw last night improves drastically, that's a nightmare for MU. Still, someone is gonna have to guard thse guys.

Badgerhater

Fulce was in a situation where he could contribute and he did.  He needs alot of work.   Now Buzz and Fulce have something tangible to point to with regard to what he did contribute and what he needs to improve upon.  Always easier to learn from doing.  Hopefully, Fulce can learn what he needs to do on D and become a reliable option off the bench.  Be great if Fulce and Otule can work themselves up to 10 reliable minutes a game.

MUfan12

Using him was a stroke of genius by Buzz.

Defensively he was not good. Nobody was. But McDermott already got Wes and Lazar a foul each quickly. Those 4 fouls were huge because they kept those two on the court. The points were gravy.

I'd expect to see him used on a guy like Summers from Gtown as well.
