Coaching Styles
« on: January 14, 2009, 10:51:39 AM »
I watched Indiana get thomped again last night and once again thanked the good Lord that Buzz is not a diciple of the tanning bed spokesman.  I think MU has played with a sense of purpose this year that was missing last year and I venture to guess would be absent if there had not been a coaching change.  For example, the Villanova game could have been lost if there had not been a time out and change in strategy.  All in all Buzz has done a fine job.  As for Mr. Crean, I doubt he will win another game this year unless there is a rematch with Lipscomb.
In heaven Marquette always beats Wisconsin

The idea that he is losing because of "coaching style" is so disingenuous.  He is losing because his top returning scorer from last year is a walk-on who averaged less than 2 points a game.  He just doesn't have the horses.  But IU is pulling in a highly rated recruiting class and will be just fine.

OTOH, Buzz is winning because his three talented senior guards are stepping up.  The jury is still out on him.  Believe me, I am very positive, expecially considering the class we have coming in, but the hardest part of the schedule is coming up.  They have yet to win a game that they haven't be reasonably expected not to win.

Jury is still out on both coaches.   Can Crean land a star big and some 5 stars.   I think he will but he hasn't yet.    But what Crean did at MU won't cut it at Indiana.

I'm figuring T-Cubed wears out his welcome @ IU just about the time there's an opening @ Gannon College. I hope he's brushing up his driving skills, because he'll have to drive the team van also.
