He was very strong and could really jump. More of an inside player than Hayward. Good enough to convert to guard in the pros.

Reminds me of a bet I made with my brother. I bet him that Bill Neary would get drafted. At that time they went about 11(?) rounds and I figured a player from the NCAA champsionship team would get his props. The draft went four rounds and then the teams decided not to bother with the rest of the draft. Shortly after that the draft went to two rounds.

Smith injured his knee early on - maybe his 3rd or 4th year and was never the same.  I'm surprised Crawford is #12 on the list.  And that Wade will surpass Doc soon - Doc seemed to be in the league forever.

Yeah, I would have thought Doc had more points - I saw many games here in ATL with him in late 80's on a strong hawks team.  Didn't need to score much with the Human Highlight Film on the floor, and Moses Malone and Kevin Willis, and Randy Wittman.  Crawford later started for the Hawks when they were abysmal and had some big nights.
