Played against 2 All-BE type points this week, and played great D on Reynolds, and just destroyed Vaughn.  Reynolds may have scored some points, but we forced them to go small against us that whole game, with Fisher at the point.  Vaughn, well, he might as well have been a ghost.
DJ's defense has been SUFFOCATING recently.

earlier in the season i was ridiculed by friends for saying that DJ's defense is just as good as Jerels. From what I have seen this season, I think DJ is a better on the ball defender and takes fewer possessions off on the defensive side, and thats saying a lot when u compare him to a BE defensive player of the year. Also, DJ is at a disadvantage with his smaller size. Both guys are fantastic defenders, I just think DJ doesnt get as much pub for it

DJ's D was clearly overshadowed by the long-range bombing clinic that was put on. I do think the stat of the game is the points scored by Vaughn.

I agree with you, McNeal gets more deflections and has better hands but DJ is the best on the ball defender on the team, and has been for a couple years.  McNeal gambles a lot and leaves his guy open for shots and drives where as DJ is more disciplined.

DJ has not gotten enough credit for his D, pretty much since he arrived here.

I have been very impressed with the way the defense overall has improved since earlier in the season. Very good to see.

Big Papi

DJ was able to get into Vaughns head yesterday which was huge.  You got to love it when a teams leading scorer is struggling to score and then decides to chuck a 23 foot shot over DJ.  Thats when you know a player is either doing a heat check or just completely frustrated.
