I was doing an MUWiki and the dates and ages match up but a source says he played for Minnesota FB.

I'm hoping some locals could fill in the blanks...

MARQKC

Was a running back for the University of Minnesota football team, and later tried out for the old Chicago Cardinals in the NFL.

Born in Milwaukee, he supposedly once beat up Gene Wilder.

Data from the best internet source I've found for info on movies and anything related to them, www.imdb.com.

Laughlin's page is here:

I know. But I'm thinking that the University of Minnesota info *may be* incorrect. His age matches up with ANOTHER Tom Laughlin that played fb for MU.

Just thinking that they may have mixed up "Marquette" with "Minnesota."

I just went to the U of Minnesota Media Guide to look for all time letter winners. Here is the list where Laughlin's name would be

Last, Kenneth .................................1964-66
Lauterbach, L. Joseph....................1941-42
Lavaty, Thomas J. ..........................1969-70
Lawing, John L. ..............................1972-73
Lawler, L. B.....................................1912-15

Looks to me like no one name Tom Laughlin ever played football at Minnesota

I think you found the "smoking gun"!

I believe he went to Marquette - since he's a local boy and he appears in an MU program but not in a Minnesota book.

I guess the AD can verify for sure.
