How early do I need to show up to get a lower level seat in the student section? I was thinking about 4 hours but someone told me that probably wouldn't be enough.

4 would be safe I think.  As you can see from all of the student tickets that were bought up on the Trading Post, eBay, etc. the tickets aren't going unused just because some students are skipping because of exams.  They're just being transferred to people who want to go and feel they have the extra time, so you'd expect the line to be just as long just as early.
