"Michael Snaer, a 6-4 guard from Moreno Valley, Calif., tells Rivals.com he also will sign in the spring. Snaer has a final five of KU, Missouri, Florida State, UCLA and Marquette."

Is waiting a good or bad thing for Marquette fans' hopes of seeing Snaer in a Marquette jersey?

Bad in more than one aspect.  Final fives in the fall don't often stay the same as the year progresses, so there's a chance MU might be out by the time he makes a decision.   Secondly, spring allows him to wait and see what is going to happen at UCLA.  Some say that's his top school, and he just hasn't chosen them because he doesn't want to sit behind Jrue Holliday.  Waiting until spring allows him to see if Holliday plays well enough to declare for the NBA.

The only way it might help MU is if Dominic Cheek or Henry choose Kansas and Jrue Holliday doesn't live up to expectations and has to stay in school.  But even then MU is probably behind Florida State and Missouri due to the influence of his AAU coach.

Might be well to leave an open scholie.  Maybe a transfer in for the second semester.  Maybe Buzz will have a better idea of his needs in the spring.  Etc, etc....

Smart money here says Buzz won't sit around and wait. Count on another 2g commiting  and signing with the Warriors next week.

Snaer, Colvin and Darius Smith are all supposedly waiting until spring. I do not think Buzz signs anyone else. Maybe Wilson will wait to spring also. If MU has a really good year under Buzz, then Snaer waiting till spring does not hurt.

I agree i think if we do sign another player it will not be til the spring, and that is not becuase we have to wait but becuase we want to set what happens.  now obviously if a top 50 type player wants to sign Buzz should take him but I think we are well set and simply waiting to see if needs change may be a prudent step.

Wilson is no longer a possibility.  Buzz is still recruiting 2009, but Wilson is not one of those players.

I realize Buzz has stopped recruiting him. I expect Wilson to commit to Michigan St. and there is no reason to wait until spring. If he does not commit to Michigan St. in the early signing period, that means he is not sold on Michigan St and his recruiting is oepning up. As of now it looks like MU is out of scholarships and will only be signing another player if someone leaves. Buzz's priorty is recruiting another guard. If a spot opens up and Snaer, Colvin and Smith go else where why wouldn't Buzz change his mind about Wilsonif he has not committed?

The Jamil Wilson hype is starting to remind me of the Shannon Smith hype...only 17 years later.
