Weekly Radio Show Debuts Nov. 10 At The Union Sports Annex

Milwaukee - "The Marquette Basketball Hour with Buzz Williams," a weekly radio program on ESPN 540 featuring the Marquette University men's basketball program, will make its 2008-09 debut on Monday, November 10 at The Union Sports Annex.

The hour-long program runs from 6-7 p.m. CT and is hosted by Steve "The Homer" True, play-by-play voice of the Golden Eagles. The broadcast features player interviews, highlights and comments from first-year head coach Buzz Williams. Several promotions and giveaways will also highlight the season's schedule.

The Annex (804 North 16th Street) will serve as the host for a total of four broadcasts (Nov. 10, Dec. 1, Jan. 19 and March 2) and all Marquette fans are encouraged to attend. Food and drink specials will be featured each broadcast, beginning with a selected appetizer discount on Monday night.

Marquette students will be able to pick up their Fanatics T-Shirts from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the hallway next to the bowling alley. The regular-season opener is Friday, Nov. 14 at 7:30 p.m. against Houston Baptist.

GoMarquette.com will feature all game broadcasts and weekly programs online through the website's Marquette All-Access multimedia platform. The weekly hour-long show will also be archived as a podcast immediately after it airs and will be available to download to a listener's computer for free.

The remaining broadcasts in 2008-09 will be conducted in the ESPN 540 studios.

Good idea to have the program on campus rather than in an upscale downtown restaurant/bar.  The differences between Buzz and TC are telling.
