The most interesting thing about that article is they include Sam Hauser, Deonte Burton, and Jamal Cain in their list of former MU players currently in the NBA.
-
Why is Marquette?

even for USAToday that was ridiculously weak.

I mean Jamal graduated. He belongs on there. If I played something in a pro league and someone asked my Alma mater I'd say Marquette not default to U of Galway. I'm sure almost everyone on here with a post grad degree would say the same.

The story reads as if it was generated by AI, but Joe Rivera’s bio says he is a Rutgers grad….so it is a push.
-
That’s as bad as a NY Post article but about right for what Gannett pays

100% factual.

Mentions the 2003 FF but not being runner up in 1974, when the author talks about having tournament success.
It also mentions the main campus being in Milwaukee- do we have a campus somewhere else?

Obviously our Marquette, Michigan campus.

Father Jacques “Père” Marquette, the French Jesuit missionary known for his explorations and discovery of the Mississippi River, was laid to rest at the Father Marquette Monument in Saint Ignace, Mackinac County, Michigan. This serene location is where his followers moved his remains after his original burial in present-day Ludington, Michigan. The monument stands as a tribute to his significant contributions and enduring legacy.

Super Marquettes can be found almost everywhere.

Well…except he didn’t “discover” the Mississippi. Even if you exclude the fact the indigenous people knew about it, it was known by European long before ole Jacques paddled around.

It was generated by Microsoft's Co-Pilot. AI isn't very intelligent. Perhaps we should call it AS.

First of all, he probably was like most priests in that era (per my books on the birchbark canoe/Voyageurs' history) who expected the indigenous people and the voyageurs to do all the paddling. So much for your "ole Jaques paddled around". He is shown standing in a massive canoe and pointing the way that the paddlers should direct the canoe, so obviously he really did discover the Mississippi River. Get your feces together Sultan.

I think he was questioning which way to go to get to MU, Milwaukee or Marquette, Michigan..
I have been to the Father Marquette Monument to pay my respects.

A chicken in every pot, and a victim in every thread.

Wearing MU gear in bar in Dallas for lunch. Patron asked if we were youpers.

Worked in Detroit metro in an office with a number of grads from Michigan Tech. They located a diner in the Detroit metro that served pasties. Youpers got that one right.

Yep. When we were in the U.P. years ago, we learned that the pasties originated as a "lunch box" meal for hard working miners that was complete and could be reheated when they had their dinner break.
