Tried to capture how special Marquette's individual player growth has been by highlighting one area where each of the starting 5 has made significant improvement compared to last year. A lot to chew on.

Oso’s offensive improvement and Kam’s defensive improvement have been the biggest developments to me (as well as Chase being a ton more ready to contribute).

RAPM is Regularized Adjusted Plus Minus from Hoop-Explorer. It basically uses fancy math to extrapolate player impact off of basic and and then adjusted plus minus stats. Oso's 9.2 is currently 23rd best in the country.
BPR is "Bayesian Performance Rating is the sum of a player's OBPR and DBPR. This rating is the ultimate measure of a player's overall value to his team when he is on the floor. BPR is interpreted as the number of points per 100 possessions better than the opponent the player's team is expected to be if the player were on the court with 9 other average players. A higher rating is better.# Oso's 4.44 is 35th best in the country.
C-RAM is Cerebro sport's offering. "IT contextualizes a player’s performance within the event they are playing in. As RAM measures total overall performance, C-RAM measures performance compared to the average." Oso is in the gold tier, exact rank unknown.
All 3 take O and D data, which makes them more useful than something like ORtg. And the important piece is how many leaps this group has taken in unison.

In addition to agreeing with you about the incredible year-over-year improvement these guys have shown, the other thing I get from all of this is that Oso is our MVP ... and by a lot. One could even say he's a significant player nationally.

Kams defense is hardly better than last year honestly. His defensive BPR is lower than his expected since the start of the year (he is below the expected improvement). His defensive RAPM is lower than the pessimistic outcome of his defense.
Kam's offense has just reached another level.

Kam's offense is so good that you have to have him on the floor as much as possible, and Stevie's defense is so good that you have to have him on the floor.
It is truly refreshing to see how Shaka has assembled a cast of players that fit together so well and actually play together so well. No, they are not going to win a national championship this year, but that's ok. They are a really good team capable of beating very, very good teams on occasion, and they are really fun to watch. Great to watch their individual and collective development.
