A couple of sloppy turns but the offensive looks pretty sharp.  We're also doing a nice job on the d-glass.

Nice steal by Jop.

But trying to do a fast break sidestep at turtle speed wont work in the BE. Heck didnt work vs Radford.

Radford isnt the best judge due to not much size/guys down low but we are closing out and rebound well on all their long jumpers.

You can see how this team very well could play 10 deep.  Oso fantastic.  Rebounding looks good for the team.  Though Ben Gold showed some burst/explosion on the missed drive, and played pretty good defensively.  Sean Jones will be a menace on D.  A lot of talent on this team.

As expected it's a close game at half. Probably will carry through to the mid to late 2nd half as well.

Some valuable minutes there at the end of the half with Kolek and Oso on the pine with 2 fouls a piece.  Going to need someone to step up in that spot in the future.

You're trying way too hard to push this narrative that Radford is a scary team.  Marquette is on pace to win by 16.

You're trying way too hard to push this narrative that Radford is a scary team.  Marquette is on pace to win by 16.

You're heavily misreading the situation.  I don't think Radford is scary at all. They are just somewhat competent and that's all you need to stay in a game 1 of a season.

Nerves, jitters, uncertainty. A lot of unknowns.

They called him Koehler earlier. NIL options?

Not worried about Joplin.

He's the kind of guy that just needs to see 1 go through. If he's rebounding and defending he'll be fine.

Kolek and Oso have their hands ALL over this one.

That drive by OMP is what I would like to see with more regularity when he has open space.  No soft finishes.

Very impressed with the closing power.

Kolek and Oso leaving no doubt. Ross and Stevie might be opposite handed twins.

Not having Jones shoot is giving me flashbacks to Packer games not having Jones run the ball

This is an abysmal finish.

Everything changed when OSO went out and theres been no rhythm since

Definitely a lot of positives, but I sure would have liked the guys to use this game to be hyper disciplined and lay it on Radford. TK and his one handed passes drive me absolutely crazy, I hope his positives aren’t fools gold. Poor discipline to close the game after a killer stretch, hoping experience will help.

Also our entire h-c offense cannot be Kolek creating off the dribble.  More ball movement, paint touches, better discipline and control of the rock, and all of our guards understanding how to pass off the bounce.

It started when Stevie fouled out before that.

Chase Ross looks like hes gonna play.

Hes the by far the most in control of the SJ/Gold/Ross/Jop/Wrightsil bench group.

This right here.  That kid is smooth.  Joplin had a rough game - game seemed a bit too fast for him.  He's got a slow wind up on his jumper - form is great, but man his release is slow.  Sean Jones had first game nerves and will be better.

Kam got banged up and sat for a long period in the 2nd. Would have helped to have his scoring.

Need someone to step up in place of Oso while he rests. Otherwise, the rest was really solid.

What should be our non-Oso line-up?

What should be our non-Oso line-up?

I like

Kolek
Kam
Joplin
OMax
Wrightsil

The size and scoring goes up going from 3 guards to 2 guards to cover while Oso gets a breather.

I think that lineup can work.

I was leaning:

Kolek

Stevie
Omax
Joplin

I certainly wouldn't sit Stevie and almost wonder if we could play 4 smalls with O-Max?
