Title: [Cracked Sidewalks] Wisconsin Preview
Post by: brewcity77 on October 24, 2022, 06:37:47 AM
Badger Hate Week comes 6 weeks early today! Cracked Sidewalks has your breakdown of the Badgers, a team that's once again being overlooked nationally, but we expect to be in the Big Ten mix and a single digit seed again come March.

Can’t believe they’re letting a guy with tattoos play on their team

So it’s the same team. But Kesmit is worse than Brad, Jordan is worse than his brother, and the rest of the team should be a tiny bit better.

55th overall ish. 8th in the big ten.

If they overachieve Essegian is the guy that I think pushes them there with his shooting.

I hate this game every year, and I don't love the matchup this year.

I can’t stand the Badgers but believe they will be good (again).  Wahl, Hepburn and Crowl were all solid last year and will be better this season, and Essegian is an elite shooter.  The national media don’t seem to understand the Badgers and often  pick them to finish considerably lower than they do.

The reason I think that UW will struggle is their lack of a guy to takeover a game. Chucky, Wahl, and Crowl are all good, but I don't see them being "the guy". If UW is successful, it will be by committee. No Davis or Davison to bail them out this year. A down B10 should help them quite a bit though.

Anyone know where those "ball control" (?turnovers) stats can be found?

Just thought I'd bump it to get us psyched for Wisconsin.

Wisconsin loses to Wake Forest at home in a close one and Kansas in OT.
Seems like a smaller team than past years.
Scored 75 against Wake Forest.

With our harassing defense we can turn them over and wear them out.  Force them into bad shots late in the shot clock and force them into committing more fouls than they're used to with our quickness and crisp passing.

Essegian (I wonder if he’s related to Chuck, the peripatetic outfielder) has been out of his mind. We need Stevie and Sean to put a dent in his 3-point numbers.

That kid can shoot.  But he's turnover prone, and he can't cover anyone.  When we're on offense, we need to go at him and expose him to the point that they can't afford to keep him on the floor.

I want Stevie and Sean harassing Hepburn 94 feet for 40 minutes.

No wonder they say he reminds them of Tyler Herro.
