Title: MU players on NBA Playoff rosters
Post by: Dickthedribbler on April 23, 2022, 09:39:37 AM
I don't follow the NBA as closely as others do. But am I correct that Marquette has 5 former players currently on NBA Playoff rosters ( Wesley Matthews, Jimmy Butler, Jae Crowder, Juan Anderson and Sam Hauser). And that it would be 6 if Marcus Howard didn't have some kind of illness or injury. And that Wisconsin, UWM and UWGB combined have zero players in the NBA playoffs??

Interesting.

I think Markus is not on the playoff roster because he is a two way player. This year they removed that exception of allowing 2 way players on playoff roster.

Sure, why not.

What prompted my initial question was Friday evening before the Bucks game in Chicago, Dennis Krause ( who I like) did a show discussing the NBA playoffs with guests former Bucks announcer Jim Paschke, and Brian Butch. The topic was the intensity of playoff basketball versus regular season. So Paschke puts in his 2 cents and then Krause turns to Butch and (paraphrasing) says "and here's someone who really knows about the rigors of the NBA post-season, Brian Butch". And it occurred to me, what does this douchebag know about the NBA playoffs?? I believe his only foray into the NBA was a 10 day contract once, where he was injured the entire time, and his only contact with the Playoffs was sitting on his sofa with a can of beer, watching. If they want to talk to a local about NBA playoffs, maybe they could find someone who actually knows, like Tony Smith or Steve Novak.

And that led to me wondering about MU guys and UW guys and the NBA playoffs.

Krause misspoke when he really meant the "rigors of the NBA G-League post season"

I like Dennis Krause too, but he's a uw-Oshkosh guy.  Not that there's anything wrong with that.
