How many honestlyknows who Denton Jones is?  I didn’t and I see why, played in ‘72 and that was it.

At this point, James and DJO are running neck-and-neck.  So far it's DJO by a chin. (40 to 39)

Dom by a wide margin for me.

DJO in second by a wide margin.

I will always remember some of Carton's dunks though

DJO for me but I was only following MU for the 08-09 season of Dominque James so I am biased there. Still DJO had the Buzz walk it out dunk and was the leading scorer on two sweet 16 teams.

DJO had the Buzz walk it out dunk against Louisville, and the shot against Cuse to go to the S16.  Two huge moments against hated teams.

Side note: even though his initials are DJ, I always just called him Dom, or Nique.  DJO has always been DJO.  Gets the nod for me.

I went with Dom, though not by a wide margin, over DJO. Dom had a very solid four years, though he never quite lived up to the dreamy potential we all saw as a freshman. DJO had fewer years, but played with such ferocity that if felt like something powerful could happen when he touched the ball. The Buzz walk it out dunk is one for the ages.

Ugh those guys heard their "Marquette girls" cover of "California Girls" at a couple parties and thought they were gods gift to mankind.

But also pour some out for YouTube in its old form

DJO by a wide margin.  His 3pt shooting, ball handling, fast attacking...loved it all.  Dom James was exciting, but he was a mediocre dribbler, mediocre shooter, but great at elevating.  If he weren’t held back by Crean, I might have put him higher.

For the record, I'm the one who voted for Dwayne Johnson. Asked for favorite, not the best. He was one of MU's better players in the early 80s not too long after I started going to games in the late 70s.

I was pretty good on WMUR, tbh

But I’ll go w/ DJO

Didn't he play football for Miami?

I have always thought, if Dwayne Johnson would have been academically  eligible his senior season, things would have turned out different with Rick Majerus . He was primed and ready for a big senior year .

Johnson played in the pre 3 era and was a ferocious inside presence . He frequently gets overlooked/forgotten among the many talented players MI has had over the years.

Anything besides MU basketball in college sports doesn't matter.

Herman

I was a big fan of Dwayne Johnson, both on and off the court. He was in about 75% of my classes over the three years and great guy. He was tough to stop down low and he would have had a big senior year.

Dom was giving the keys to the offense from day one. His ego after his BE Rookie of the Year season (and brutal shooting that never improved) held him back, as his stats dropped across the board every season. A PG should not have a career high of 31% from three or have a 46% FT percentage as a senior.

If anyone was held back by TC it was Wes, who was relegated to the third option behind DJ and Jerel.

I think they missed as the UWW team won it in 1984 and DJ was at MU. He was DJ's stat line in 1985-1986 season I found.
