Title: TBT-DJO Torn Achilles
Post by: Herman Cain on May 03, 2021, 10:06:25 PM
One of the stars of The TBT, DJO , has gone down with a serious injury. He was having a great season in France before this happened. Wishing Him a speedy and healthy recovery.

Especially for a guy whose game is built on athleticism and change of pace.

Hoping he has a quick recovery.

Roster suggestions Tower?  How do we repeat??  Would Wade play?  Any guards with Milwaukee ties that can get buckets?

I have watched 10 minutes combined of TBT basketball over the years.

The TBT Warriors have been a joy to watch Tower.  You're missing out.  They have superb comradery and chemistry on the floor.  And DJO drained shots from all over the court and attacked relentlessly with great success.  He will be extremely difficult to replace.

One of my all time favorite Marquette players.....

He is truly a great guy....My son at the time went to MU camp which DJO, Butler, and Buzz were at.....

Because DJO was a highly decorated JUCO.....and was a human high-lite real.....My son knew his stats and et al.....

My son was a pretty decent B-ball player.....But DJO was floored that 13 year old knew so much about him.....

So DJO worked with him through out the camp and showed a real willingness to be a mentor.....

Not like some.....Who are just going through the motions and get renumerated for their attendance.....

My sons team won their class 3 on 3 tourney. during the camp....Of course he had MaCilvane's son on his team so they had the big and small.....and competition was not that great anyway....

I personally will never forget that DJO showed so much maturity for a college kid to "care".....

I hope DJO gets back to his professional career......He is a Marquette all-star in all ways....

PS.....I live in Vermont and in HS his team were two time DIV 2 state champs......Which is not saying a lot...But I will say.....DJO's coaching and mentoring always helped......A great kid...

Get better soon......

Very well said.  I absolutely love him as well.  He still has crazy jets coast to coast and can stop and pop from long range.  He's just a bit too short to be a 2G in the NBA.  What I do know is DJO played with the kind of vigor and tenacity that would serve all MU current and future players quite well.  Obviously he's a tremendous athlete....do not forget about that tip throw-down vs The Ville.

What I like the most about DJO - other than his toughness - is that he has always had a realistic self-appraisal.  He knew that as a 6'2" combo guard he was lucky to get the 25 minutes of NBA time that he did get... and that he had a chance to go make some money playing the game, so he did.  He did G league a couple years, but only to get exposure for international leagues where he ended up with very good teams every year.

hope the recovery is swift and he can get that burst back.

As for TBT...there's another DJ (Carton) who would fill the spot very well.  This could be a great year for TBT with lots of pros at home in the USA due to travel problems with the overseas leagues.
