Yep ... they left the wrong guy wide open.

Or, in the case of our heroes, the right guy.

Truly a gift to get to watch him play for likely the last time.  It was really fun to have the TBT in the middle of all that is going on in the world.

I think we all can agree now, at last, that Travis Diener was not just a "dime a dozen" PG.

The gulf between what the gr8one thinks he knows, and what he actually knows, is far and wide.

The gulf between what the gr8one thinks he knows, and what he actually knows, is far and wide.
Reminds me of a Bobby Knight quote, when he said something like, "I have forgotten more about this #%$ing game then you will ever know."

That quote never made sense. Thinking of it mathematically, If Bobby's knowledge was on a scale of 1-100, a 99, but he forgot 85 , and now he is at a 14, and person X  is at a 70 (which is less than Bobby forgot). Person X  currently has more basketball knowledge than Bobby. This is what happens when I work from home.

Diener is an all time great. Was fun to watch him wear blue and gold one last time. Hope he is back on our bench as a coach when all is said and done.

And, as someone who attended MU when Diener was there, this TBT helped me feel not that old  ;)

I don't think he wants to coach. His dad is the one Diener brother who doesn't coach (admitted he doesn't have the temperament for coaching).

I was at MU just before Travis but watched his whole career it took me back. I even threw up his signature "three fingers" as it went down (to hell with the white supremacists who have coopted that).

I'm still on board with 34 being retired too.

Whatever it takes to make you feel better Fluffy.  Your "facts" aren't relevant.  Oddly, New York was on fire with COVID when you had the indoor gatherings on packed subways. Herd immunity taking hold in New York.  Why do you feel there was outrage when Florida opened its beaches?  Or California for that matter?  Do we really know it only spreads through indoor gatherings?  Back in March Faucci didn't think masks helped.  The "elixir" to fix COVID spread has changed almost weekly.

Lol. Good to see you’re equally clueless on all topics.

You calling others clueless is about as comical as it gets.  BTW, should DJO get a cut of the TBT winnings, or do you still #demand #nojusticnopeace that we teach him a lesson and not compensate him due to exercising his free will/agent rights to play for an alternative team last year?

It’s worth noting that before TBT, he had very little Twitter activity, save for some sporadic retweets and comments. I think the last “original” tweet was back in April.

The last week and a half, he’s been hilarious, self aware, and dead on with everything he’s posted. He’s a savant. He may not want to coach, but he’d be a hell of a commentator when his Italian ballin days are done

Facts matter.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/tommybeer/2020/07/01/research-determines-protests-did-not-cause-spike-in-coronavirus-cases/

The study’s lead author, Dhaval Dave of Bentley University, said, “In many cities, the protests actually seemed to lead to a net increase in social distancing, as more people who did not protest decided to stay off the streets.”

See a problem there?  This guy essentially says social distancing increased in cities of protesting, and is correlating that with declines.  Yet the protests were concentrated centers of ZERO social distancing, the likes of which we've not seen since February at sporting events.

Further it is asinine to use positive test percentages as a benchmark.  I know for a fact that Doctors in Minnesota were specifically instructed to NOT test anyone under the age of 60 through Mid-May, even if symptomatic - as there was a mandate to preserve the number of COVID tests - rationed for those most at risk.

Percentages always go down when your denominator increases (exponentially in this case).

Actually if you’ll reread I was asking a question.

And of course correlation and causation don’t always go hand in hand.

But to say that the fact that a city that had already been overwhelmed (New York) didn’t see the same spike due to dangerous gatherings that a city on the back end of the curve (Houston) did “proves” something is ridiculous.

Yeah, it proves that protests didn't lead to higher rates of Covid.  Houston and the other cities you listed opened back up earlier than other places.  As a result, they have more cases.

That's what you're doing here.

The common denominator between the places seeing surges in recent weeks isn't protests. It's that they reopened too soon.

No city has really peaked.  Certain cities have simply done a better job of locking down, which by and large is limiting the number of people who crowd into an indoor space.  If New York does what Houston did this fall, it will bounce right back.
