Cheeks and Tower with their slobber lust for Wojo. As they say when MU loses a close one, let the season play out. The team is not soft but lets see how they fare against the BEast door knob/footstool DePaul.
who we all know has been soft for years.
-
I dont think the team is soft , however Theo only getting 4 rebounds in 30+ minutes while his counterpart had 15 continues to be a huge issue.
Still believe we are a better team with Jayce out there, due to his rebounding
-
Wow, Willie, still unhappy after a double OT road win without our best player. Have some oatmeal and metamucil.

To play devils advocate - can’t the same thing be said about cheeks? We win a close one and before the night is even over he jumps on the message board and makes a back handed comment directed at people that have a different opinion then his.

Theos help defense vs. Jayce's defensive and offensive rebounding. Feel like Wojo sides with help defense too.much at certain times.

Chico's, like Willie, likes to argue for argument's sake and, again like Willie, lives to be contrarian. So, yeah, Cheeks gotta cheek and Willie gotta Willie. If MU had lost, Willie would have posted a lot more and Cheeks would have defended Wojo even more vigorously.

I don't think one game sets a team's identity, but LOVED the attitude and toughness displayed. Still thinking about it this morning. Well done Warriors.

DITTO to Connie's remark.

There actually was a lot not to like in this game. The other team blitzing us again to start the second half, just replacing Markus with Koby for hero ball at the end.
Of course there was even more to like. Last night the team was tough as nails. When the offense was sputtering, they dug in on D and found a way. Every time you thought things were going to go irretrievably south, someone made a play. I can think of a big basket by Torrence, a forced TO by Theo, big rebounds and chase down of a loose ball by Cain, etc. I thought that was as good a team-building win as we've had since Wojo got here. Xavier had to have that game, and we beat them on their floor with our star gone and trailing by 6.
Of course our Free Throw defense was the key to the win, but sometimes it pays to be a little lucky, too.

door knob/footstool
If this is the case for you, then I don't think you are sitting correctly.
-
How do you like this team's toughness now?
Go Warriors!
-
Down 5 with 90 seconds in reg without
Markus and they prevail - and after two poor executions at end of reg and first OT- no - soft would have been getting blown out after Markus went down or in an OT after letting it slip - sure they can improve in such situations - who can’t - but they grind - that’s not soft

This thread is so passive aggressive

Mentally tough...sure, they have demonstrated that, but "soft" from a physicality standpoint?? Yes

I'm not miserable about anything...I thought last night was fantastic and said as much. But the title of the thread is "this team is so soft". I stated FACTS...Mentally they are very tough. Physically..no. In that regard they are a "soft" team. How can anyone disagree with that??

Marquette is leading the Big East in rebounding, leading the Big East in drawing fouls and third in the Big East in blocking shots.
Physically soft teams don't do that.

Come on. Don't post the FACTS to support that.

What makes them physically soft? Cause their play suggests otherwise

No, you stated an OPINION. But as usual, you'll claim no body can possibly disagree with you, proclaim CASE CLOSED, and do a stupid victory dance.
