I spent a few hours inside that eagle costume as an emergency eagle...the smells were interesting. We had two costumes back in the day, and for one year when I was the newbie of the dept I was in charge of the cheerleaders and mascot among a bunch of other stuff.
Both of our students could not make an event over holiday break so I donned the bird. Bucket list!

Eh, he's not wrong. One marketing guy always had cheerleading/mascot oversight, at least one guy always approved my hours.

I was a mascot for another school once, it was so hot in there and hard to see! I knew one of the GE's when I was at MU and he said he'd lose about 10 pounds again. I need to be a mascot again...

I was at that game as well. The MU fan contingent was very loud in a hostile arena, and yet after the win, when TC walked toward about 40 of us after his media interview, he made a funny face and didn’t even acknowledge the group as he walked right past everyone. I understand being so locked in and still in battle mode immediately after a game, but the game was long over.
Also, this version of Tom Crean stood in sharp contrast to the young, hungry Coach just hired off the MSU staff whom I met in the 1212 building after purchasing tickets. He was so friendly and down-to-Earth. I’m sure he would admit his head got big after the DWade Final4 run.
I’m thankful Coach Wojo appears to be the same good guy he was upon his hiring. The meat summit crowd will say, “sure, he hasn’t accomplished much here yet.” I know that he will both get it done here and remain humble when he does. I sure hope he knows that the couple booing a$$clowns in the student section are not representative of the vast, vast majority of Marquette fans. The guy is a heckuva coach, but also the absolute perfect representative of what MU strives to be.
