The Friars refrain last year was building leads and losing them, which led to a NIT trip. They return the majority of that crew and, bolstered by a grad transfer PG and a blast from the past, could challenge for a Big East title.

Yep, the Friars are a good team.

Excellent research report on the Friars. Cooley & Company are poised for a very solid season. I enjoy our rivalry with The Friars and get a kick out of Cooley and his antics. The games with MU are close and fun to watch.

I think Holtule is a bigger play than most suspect.

If he's the player he was in 2017 and Pipkins can emulate those past Cooley point guards (Council, Cotton, Dunn, Cartwright) they could be a top-15 team.

It's only a closed door scrimmage, but...Providence over Purdue. Emmitt Holt played 22 minutes. No stand out PG play though.

Other than Diallo, everyone in that game had some UGLY offensive stat lines. Defensive slug fest? Or just bad offense all around?
Looks like a lot of players missing too. No Watson for Providence (think he's out until December) or their top freshman Gannt. No Nojel Eastern for Purdue.
