Marquette fans everywhere breathed a massive sigh of relief as the 4-game losing streak was snapped against St. John's last night. It wasn't just that win that went in Marquette's favor, however. Two other 5-seeds, Virginia Tech & Maryland, also lost. That leaves Marquette with the best chance to move back up to the 4-line if things break right. And while they've been a 3-seed most of the year, the Selection Committee chair said they've seeded the top three lines already, so I'm going to assume that dream is over. Here are games to watch today:

Shouldn't WVA vs Kansas be on here too? (man that was painful to type) We still need a perfect storm to get a 3, but WVA beating Texas Tech certainly helped.

Did I miss that one? I'll get it added, because that would definitely help. It was on my list this morning, apparently glossed over it.
EDIT: Added, thanks! ;)

Thanks for this guide, brewski. Super helpful.

If MU doesn't win the BET, I'm rooting for Xavier. An automatic bid that gets one more BE team into the Dance means $$$$$$$$$ for MU.

I get that. I'd rather we beat Villanova, but I'd rather X win the Big East. Especially as Xavier likely lands on the 11/12 line and would have a real chance to advance.

Well, brewski, it might have been one of the less-important ones, but we're 1-for-1 ... as Fla just hit a 3-pointer with 1 second left to beat LSU.

I'll just root for Marquette and let the rest sort itself.

I an if MU wins two more, they would finish with 12 Q1 wins..that's top 5 in the country...seriously, if that isn't MINIMUM of 3 seed worthy...I don't know what is.

Back from the ledge to play the disrespect card. You go, guru.
Seriously, barring a succession of upsets, even if MU wins out they are a 4.

Thanks for continuing the rooting guide Brew. I stopped the one on Pain Touches after the Seton Hall loss....I got superstitious.

I mean...that really depends. Seton Hall on a neutral is not a Q1 win and if we beat them there is no way they would become one. If they beat us badly, really badly, it could be a Q1 loss, but that kind of defeats the purpose. In the final, Villanova would be Q1 but Xavier would not be.
Also worth noting, we have 3 combined Q2/3 losses. That's more than Michigan, Texas Tech, & Purdue combined (all on my 3 line). It's the same as LSU, but LSU has 5 Q1A wins to our 2. Hard to match up to that.

Leave the self-flagellation to Guru, please.

4 straight losses to the teams that MU lost to.....that’s why.
