Title: If you’re going to the Badger game Sat. PLEASE NOTE:
Post by: fjm on December 05, 2018, 08:09:05 AM
Hey everyone!
1) go MU!
2) if you’re going to the vadger game Saturday please note that some of the reason that there were empty seats (student section and regular) at the start of the game is that the lines to get into the stadium were slow and long.

I heard from multiple people sitting around me and then from a few friends later that day that they were in line 15-20 min before game start and did not make it in time for tip-off.

So in short: get in line early to get in.

Yep.  The game is in the middle of the afternoon on a Saturday.  Most of you don't have to rush there after work, and you can still sleep in, have a little pregaming and lunch, and still make it there in plenty of time.  No one has any excuse not to get there for the Pray video.

Idk the fiserv lines are excruciatingly slow. I've waited in long lines for games like prespeterian.

Get there 45 minutes before game time and you will be fine.  What else do you have to do on a Saturday afternoon that's more important?

Does anyone know if you need a copy of a student ticket to get into the upper deck of the student section or if it's a free-for-all? I know you haven't in the past, but I haven't been to FF yet.

There is no upper deck for student section. It’s all lower this year in the end zones.

FISERV DOES NOT ACCEPT PRINTED OFF TICKETS ANYMORE. EITHER ON YOUR PHONE OR TICKETS THAT WERE PART OF A SEASON TICKET PACKAGE.

NO MORE PDF OFF YOUR COMPUTER TICKETS.

Also yes student tickets: It is a free for all. General admission.

I haven't had any issues with the lines on the east side of the stadium. In in less than 2 minutes every game, including K State.

I don't park in that lot, but I park on the street near there (don't tell anyone else, it's a secret) and go in through the skywalk.   For the K-state game, we arrived close to game time (~10 mins) and that entrance wasn't bad.  Maybe had to wait for 10 people.

Plus, it kept us out of the cold, rain.

I get into the Forum always 25 minutes before gametime. On big crowd games on the weekend, sometimes 45 minutes. I beat the rush and get a drink or something. That said, the screening is fast. I feel it's faster than the BC was. Problem I see is the fans are not ready. They bring to much crap to the game. Leave to much metal in their pocket. also, they don't have their ticket ready to scan.

Two things happened regarding students last Saturday.

The rain forced most kids to take the bus.  The busses then had to make more trips causing many to be delayed.

then, there may have been an internet connection issue, but many kids had trouble getting their ticket up on their phone which caused the long line to get in.

This.

If you have ever been in TSA behind an entire family who hasn't been on an airplane since before 9/11, you have an idea of what the experience is like.

People not knowing how to bring their tickets up and then standing right in front of the ticket scanners while they try to figure it out has been a big issue in my experience.
It's early in the season hopefully the technologically impaired people start to figure out that they need to have that taken care of before they get to the gate.

Yep, got it down to a science.  Keys/cell in the little bin, no other metal.  Scan the ticket and up the escalator.  And for weekends especially, plenty early.  I hate being rushed.

PS. On Monday I did Uber car door (there had been early morning App issues causing significant delays), through TSA, to my gate and across the plane threshold in 18 minutes.  For the very first time in my life I heard my name associated with 'last boarding call'.  The entire experience sucked.

Anyone in red will be expedited to a private line that leads to a special "outdoor viewing suite" 2 blocks east of the Forum with one port-a-potty & a grainy 14-inch black & white battery operated TV, complete with bunny ears for optimal reception.

I don't know how you manage to pull this off. This would be my biggest complaint with FF thus far, and I have HEARD it hasn't gone unnoticed by others and that is has actually been talked about on radio/tv personalities, and that is the lack of viable,(close by) on the street parking. Last week, I got incredibly lucky, but that's not going to happen most of the time. This never seemed to be an issue with the BC, could almost always find street parking fairly close..not with FF, IF I do happen to find a spot on the street, it's usually pretty far away..like a 10+ minute walk afterwards.

Sure, I can park in the same spots I used to for the BC, but that's a bit further than I'd like. I want something that is close by that takes me 5 minutes at most to get to the car after and get the heck out of there. Street parking around FF is NOT optimal by any stretch.

How close to you expect to park?  Glow and I part on the street about 3 blocks away, and have never had trouble finding a spot.

I don't know about actual tickets, but in the new arena, ALL the standing room has a view of the court. Even a lot of the booze stands have a view of the court.

Maybe next year some of you cheapskates should get a job as a beertender there so you can watch the game and get paid for it.

Random suggestion for some of the less phone inclined, more experienced mu fans, you can save your ticket in the wallet app on your iphone so you don't have to pull it up online when getting in

Seems like you were pretty spoiled and have pretty high expectations for downtown street parking in a decent sized city, while also expecting a less than a 5 minute walk to a professional sports stadium, during a marquee sporting event. I don't think that is a reasonable expectation anywhere in the US, so I'm very surprised people are wasting air time talking about it.

Street parking was gone on 4th street, that was south of Kilbourn Ave to Well Street. That area killed some great street parking spots. That was due to re-doing the road, that project is now done.

Can confirm that you can also do this for android. Also you can save all the games to your phones not just the next one up so if you have some time and wifi you can download the whole season to avoid trying to pull it up in the cold outside the forum with questionable reception and make the line hopefully go quicker.

Better get to that structure at least 45 minutes before tip or pre-buy access cause we got to the area 30 minutes before the Kansas State game and the structure was full.

I believe it works OK on I-phones, but for android, if you use Google Pay that has a bug that you cannot swipe to a 2nd ticket, it only displays the 1st ticket if you have more than 1. You can take a screen-shot of the bar code and scan those.

Depends on how young you look, I can get in the student section no problem with a larger crowd of obvious students. If you look 30 though, they gunna be asking.

What is causing this problem is the explosion of apt/condo residences in the immediate vicinity of the Forum.  Back when the areas around the BC were a bunch of closed down warehouses parking was easy to come by.  Now the residents take up a lot of that parking forcing us game day parkers further and further away.

I am outraged! How dare the city allow those dilapidated buildings be replaced by upscale housing that brings more real estate and sales tax dollars into the city? Don't they realize that people have a right to free parking within two blocks of anywhere they want to go in the Downtown area?

Haven't had that problem yet  and I can swipe my two tickets, but certainly will look out for it. I will say I wish there was a way to download the whole season at once or at least all the tickets for one game at once instead of having to click on each individual ticket for each game.

This site might help https://www.tripsavvy.com/grab-free-shuttle-to-a-milwaukee-bucks-game-3572016

Or at the next game, check out the names on all of the shuttles making pickups outside the FF, they line up all down the block.

I know O'Lydias, Stenny's, Saz's (PITA more often than not), Mo's downtown, WI Athletic Club all run shuttles.

For what its worth, I looked at this briefly from Wauwatosa at places we've taken Brewers shuttles before:

Jackson's/ThirstyDuck on Bluemound&113th does not for MU. Neither does Mo's on Bluemound&Hwy100.

Saz's on State&55 does. They have two shuttles that each run twice before game (used to have a school bus). At least twice after game.....For UW might schedule more? People reserve spots so no guarantee if you just drop in. Call ahead.

Intown locations for these might be different like Jackson's.

There might be others I missed too. Any info on West/NorthWest shuttles appreciated.

You know, you could always get a phone and not tell your employer.

Also, I made it clear to my employer that I don't check my work email when I am not working (especially because I don't have a company-provided phone).  They can text me if they need an answer right away, but it better be pretty f*cking important.  They have respected my policy, mostly because they don't have much of a choice.  At the beginning, when I was called on it, I would ask, "Exactly why did you need an immediate response to that email?"  They usually didn't have one other than, "I just wanted to know the answer to my question".  They looked pretty sheepish when I responded with, "And that was worth invading my private time?"

The people that actually do respond to emails on vacation or at night feed their own problem.

For most people, 99% of  work emails received during off-hours involve issue that can be handled the next time the person is actually on duty.

I'd also recommend .. buy a $20 phone from Best Buy or Target.  No need to activate it, just set it up with wi-fi.  Presto, you now have a phone you can use for tickets, GPS, photos, etc.

Lmao @ all you old people complaining about not having parking directly next to the arena.

Speaking of which, I'm bringing my dad Saturday and he is handicapped,  does anyone know if there are handicap spots anywhere close to the arena??

Lmao @ all you old people complaining about not having parking directly next to the arena.

Look, my time is INCREDIBLY valuable, the longer I have to take to get back to my car, the more time I am wasting, and that's not going to fly.

Absolutely incredible to me that so many have not been to the new arena yet.

I almost want to win on Saturday MORE because of the 10 days between games. I can handle losing to UW. I don't know if I can handle losing and not getting a win for 10 days.

I must admit that I have not been there yet .....however I live 1200 miles away.
That said, I will be there Saturday.
And for the record before we moved to warmer weather we had a 7 year streak of perfect home attendance including WBB as well.
Looking forward to seeing the place filled with MU fans!

I am not accusing you of anything, but there was no mention of your disabled dad until after you started griping about parking.  Is this why you decided to bring him?   ;) :-*

No, it was already pre planned that he was coming with. If that were the case, I'd bring him to every game. He just has trouble walking, and I want to be as close as possible for him.

Atleast you can admit when you're in the wrong.  Unlike so many here!

I went to Brooklyn, and didn't want to drive through eight inches of snow for Kansas State Saturday.  :)

The FF has only been open for 2 months. Outside of Kansas State thus far there haven't been many enticing games. That being said, I will be a first timer on Saturday and plan to be there an hour early to explore

If I buy a ticket via the exchange this year, I'll have to go to the box office, have them print it for me, then go in? Correct? Thanks in advance
Sorry, I just saw this now.
I was told if you buy a ticket thru Marquette  that they can print it for you at the Al McGuire Center Box Office. If you buy a ticket at the Fiserv Forum Box Office, they can print it for you. Plus, an usher told myself the same thing last Saturday.

With Fox having 3 games today. The 2nd game is Louisville at IU at 1:30. Which should make the tip of UW/MU at 4:02pm. Meaning the teams will take the court at 3:50. National Anthem and starting line-ups will all happen to be before 4PM. So, get in early!!!

Thanks Nielsen. Just making sure I have this 100 percent right before I buy a ticket on the exchange here. If I buy a ticket on the exchange, I'll have to stop at the Al on the way in, have them print it for me there, they proceed on to the FF. Al webpage showing Al ticket office not open this morning FWIW.

Not sure what the exchange is. Yet, if that is thru Marquette and it's in your ticket account. I was told Marquette can print it for you.

That exchange is thru ticketmaster I believe. So, the Fiserv Forum Ticket Office should also print that for you. I would see when the Fiserv Forum Ticket Office opens today. I would guess It's 10am and call to ask.

Maybe the exchange program is different. I would call. I'm 100% sure and was told someone can print them. You just can't print at home/work anymore.

Does anyone have any free suite tickets for me today. I could use 9. Suite needs to be fully stocked too. Not too picky about food selection.

Thanks in advance.

While we are at it, I could use some tix for the Final Four. Half-court, will take anything in the first ten rows. Willing to pay face value.

I had a buddy text me for tickets yesterday about 20 minutes before the tip. We were in our seats, all settled, I'm thinking "you couldn't have asked earlier?" 🤣

We are good friends with the folks who sit in the seats next to us. They couldn't make it to the game,so they gave their tickets to two guys we didn't know.

They came in 1/3 of the way into the first half, one wearing a bucky shirt and one wearing an Iowa (?} shirt. The two of them talked business during the rest of the half, barely glancing at the game, and left at halftime.

Why did they even bother to come to the game? What a waste. Our friends were not happy when they found out.
