I guess if you want to win some money take MU on the money line. At east you get paid nicely if they actually pull off the upset.

Well sure, if they win by 9 you win $20. Money line is -400. So you could bet $20 and Kansas wins by 8 or less and you lose the bet and MU loses. You’re scenario would require a money line bet, which pays $5 on a $20 bet.

No, he’s just a “kid” (20 something). We just bet lunch at Shake Shack. I felt a little guilty even betting him that. But I figure if I don’t teach him, someone else will. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll be happy to fleece him again next year if he’s up for it.

I rarely if ever bet on my teams but I think MU is good value tonight. Louisville is awful in 3 of the 4 factors defensively and very good at limiting offensive rebounds, but it is harder to protect the defensive glass with a team that shoots a lot of 3s like MU

I think the Vikings are better than the Packers but they are incredibly inconsistent. I'd pick Minnesota if I was forced to make a pick but I'm staying away.

Yeah I parlayed that, Nevada -5.5 at Loyola Chicago, MSU -5 at Louisville (the one I'm least confident in out of these games), and VT -1.5 at Penn State.
I've been staying away from larger parlays like that, but I really like each of those games so figured I'd put down a very small amount on a parlay.

We lost by 0.5 to both Kansas and Lousiville.
I think you could have got MU -3 vs. UL and MU +9 vs. KU at certain points. So anywhere from 2-4 to 2-2-2

Totally understand what you are saying with the homers betting and the logic behind that makes total sense but the line is moving away from "local" action here moving from Nevada -5.5 to -4.5

I like North Carolina moneyline, maybe parlayed with OSU -5 at home against Cuse. Georgetown to win, but not cover against Richmond (Georgetown doesn't beat anyone by 14 points). Creighton at home is always a good bet.

Meh... that’s like seeing something on sale at Kohl’s and thinking “wow, that’s a great deal!”
IOW, the line was probably marked up more than a point to begin with, so knocking off a point still wouldn’t get you to natural odds.
That said, Vegas does fu kah the poocha every once in a while, but in this case, action was the same either way.
Or maybe the Wolfpackers have been taking a lesson in pessimism from Scoop.

Oregon is getting 3 at Houston tonight. Seems like the recent dud against Texas Southern is being weighed pretty heavily in this one. I think there's a good chance Oregon wins this outright.
I like the Nevada v USC under at 164.5 too. USC has had some high scoring games, but I think they'll come down to earth a little against Nevada.

ISU has been the better team this year despite the rankings. It was -1 early today and I was leaning towards ISU but at 2.5 I'd lean Iowa. Think I'm going to stay away though.

It’s a tough call. Sure they beat WVU who is down this year...but after that who is their next best game, Cuse? I think the fact we don’t play zone helps us. MU by 8

Despite what anyone says to the contrary, it is not legal to bet on sports online from US soil unless you’re physically located in the state of NV (maybe NJ, too)... at least for now, anyway. That will slowly be changing over the next decade. In 6-7 years, don’t be surprised if online sports gaming is legal in more states than recrijuana.
You can, however, bet on the horseys online from maybe a couple dozen states I believe, including Illinois.

Feeling pretty good about Washington State as a 2.5 point favorite over Iowa State tonight in the Alamo Bowl.
I put a few bucks on MD Eastern Shore to cover a monster 39 point spread against Va Tech tonight in hoops too. That spread on a game with a 134 over/under was just too tempting.

I've been hot the last few days after a painful, slow regression the 2 weeks before that.
Sit at 41-31, +37* for the year.
I got shellacked by Auburn earlier. Went against my gut due to lots of sharp action on Purdue and paid for it.
Currently have U34 first half WVU/Syracuse and Hornets -4.5 for tonight.
Very much going to go with DePaul -1 tomorrow as well

I like Wisconsin to cover today with the under and St. John’s ML with the over. I also like buffalo to rebound nicely and cover over Canisius but the line scares me a bit cause it’s a bit of a rivalry game.
I’m probably a bit higher on the Johnnies this yr than the “experts” or other scoopers but I just feel like they aren’t getting their due because of the soft schedule. We will know much more about them after tonight’s game. Powell is legit but I think SH will be down this yr and the St John’s guards will be too much to handle.
With regards to Tuesday’s game- the tables have turned this yr and Marquette is the much bigger and more talented team inside, so I’d love to see wojo gameplan for a bit of a slower paced inside game with Theo/Ed to help eliminate turnovers because St John’s guards are excellent at creating them.

I needed the Oklahoma vs. Texas Tech over to close out a 4 game parlay tonight. I felt good with a 35-31 halftime score. Then Oklahoma just fell apart and went ice cold in the second half. What a terrible game to watch, both from a gambling perspective and just as a fan of college basketball.

If I had said before the game UW was going to win, which I did think that was the case, I'd be accused of being a Wisconsin fan. Can't win here. But more importantly, he loves to take pot shots whenever he can, so he deserves one back every once in awhile. Courage or not.

I'm sure you weren't alone - this is a perfect example of Vegas believing their data even when they know the public won't. I guarantee you there was MUCH more $ wagered on Michigan -3 today than there was on UW +3. Vegas knew that when they put out the line. But in their judgement it was a fair line so they went with it anyway.

Vegas had a pretty good idea bettors would pound Michigan when they put out the line. Once their suspicions were confirmed they bumped the line a point almost immediately, then added a half. But if the public LOVED Michigan at -2 and -3, do you really think they'll LOVED Wisconsin +3.5? No freakin' way. They'll still bet Michigan (80% of the handle ended up on the Wolverines) but Vegas will just get a little more edge from fair value. IOW, if the game fall right on what they determine to be "fair value" (Michigan wins by 2) instead of everybody "pushing", they'll collect from those who bet Michigan at -3 and -3.5. Vegas LOVES these "unbalanced" situation where the scales are tipped even more in their favor.

But if you are a regular sport's bettor luck evens out over time. Finding edge, being on the "right side" (when there is one - most games versus the point spread are truly coin flips) is the only way to survive in the long run.
